A simply packaged collection of everyday family biscuits from the Tesco Value range. The packaging is the usual Tesco Value white wrapper with the Tesco logo and product description in red and blue. The package contains five packs of biscuits, one each of bourbon creams, custard creams, nice and two packs of malted milk biscuits. A veritable biscuit barrel selection! The biscuits are simply wrapped in clear cellophane within the outer packaging, no fancy frill or labelling, just biscuits!
The biscuits are of a very good quality in my opinion. Their taste is sweet but not sickly, the texture crispy but not hard. The actual size of biscuits, to be fair is a little smaller than one would get if you bought a branded range, but a biscuit is a biscuit in my book! The nice biscuits are mildly coconutty and although the bourbons are the wrong shape in my view, being sort of square-ish not long and thin, the biscuits are just as I would expect them to be in appearance, taste and texture.
My partner is one of those people who cannot have a cup of tea or coffee without a biscuit and at just 68p for FIVE packets of biscuits, he can indulge his biscuit urges with a clear conscience! The custard creams are my particular favourite, they smell 'custardy' and taste wholesome and sweet, without being sickly. These biscuits are great for visiting grandchildren and for everyday eating.
I am not going to list ingredients or calorie and nutritional information for this product as I feel it would not enhance the review or make very interesting reading! Suffice to say that the biscuits are suitable for vegetarians, the manufacturing process uses milk, gluten, sugars and although not nuts, the product may contain traces of nuts, so anyone sensitive to these ingredients should take note. As with calorie, fat and carbohydrate information, we all know that biscuits of any kind are not a healthy option so I won't insult readers intelligence by stating more than this on the subject!

My thoughts and conclusion
Another winner from Tesco, cheap and very cheerful biscuits at a budget concious 68p for the whole pack. Where else could you get 5 packets of biscuits for such a small outlay. Well done to Mr Tesco and I am happy to recommend Tesco Value Biscuit Barrel Biscuits to other consumers.
Advantages: Taste good & are crazy cheap Disadvantages: none
...a dash to my local Tesco to pick some up. Now I'm one of these people who stands in the shop looking at all of the selections and not being able to decide which ones to get, then I spotted the Tesco biscuit barrel pack, its a pack of five different types of biscuit - Custard Cream, Bourbon Cream, Nice & Malted Milk Biscuits (2 packs) and it only cost 68 pence, to good to be true I hear you say well that's what I thought so I bought these and some ... ...Well like most of the Tesco budget stuff its a blue and white packet with pictures of the biscuits on the front, once you open this packet the different biscuits are wrapped in there own clear wrappers which is a good idea because it means you don't have to open them all at once so they wont go soggy. Price Well you can't go wrong for 68p for the whole packet Now my other half is what I call a food snob, he does not like buying the cheaper versions ...

Advantages: Very cheap Disadvantages: Not enough chocolate chips
Tesco do a large range of valuebiscuits - digestives, shortbread, custard creams - they even do a biscuitbarrel with a variety of different biscuits. I was about to pick up some Maryland chocolate chip cookies when I saw that TescoValue chocolate chip cookies where cheaper than Maryland even when they were buy one get one free so I thought why not, I'll give them a try.
They are packaged in a typical long round packet of biscuits like most cookies are in a white packet with the trademark value blue and white stripes. They are pictures of the cookies in it. The pack is 250g and contains about 20 biscuits.
The cookies themselves taste a lot like typical cookies, very crumbly, maybe not as sweet as other cookies. The chocolate chips taste nice too, I was worried that they might be made with foul tasting cheap chocolate but they ...
