The Tesco FH11 value fan heater.
Having been working in my garage on various things, rebuilding a mountain bike working on a car, painting doors I found I needed a source of heat, nothing to big as my garage isn’t massive or indeed empty.
I plumed for the Tesco cheap the Value FH11 fan heater and low and behold its is very good it has kept me warm for a few hours on many a weekend and evening while I have been pottering around.
The little fan heater comes with two settings and an adjustable thermostat to temper the heat to your taste, although I had to up everything and aim the heater at me for best effect.
It did heat the garage to a snug temperature after a while and it kept it up but if the doors were open it’s was cold again for a while until it caught up.
The fan stands firm and has a little red light on its upper front to show its powered on and has two click switches on the top that look like ears if you see the picture, they are the heat settings and speed.
Here you can set the heat to high or low and the fan speed between 1 and 5 with 5 being the fastest, the from grill spins and disperses the air at different angles but if you tight the middle screw the grill is hinged on tit will stay firm and not rotate giving a constant flow of air in the same direction.
The body is plastic with two colour options being grey or white, and the grill is plastic again comes in either one f two shades of grey.
The heater looks ok there are better out there but for £12 but a penny it was a steal and a good buy, it would go for hours and hardly ever over heat.
Being electric I don’t suppose its overly green as I believe its quite a hungry little machine, but it does have some safety features such as a tip over switch, during in top speed the 5 option on the switch it can get a rock on and vibrate a bit but doesn’t usually fall over, it also has an overheat option.
Being plastic and getting quite hot and very hot inside you don’t want it burning itself out or blowing its self up or starting any fires, if its senses its to hot it shuts down until its cooled and allows you to switch it on again.
The fore hopefully averting any mishaps, in my experience it good fore couple of hours after that you get a musty plastic smell coming from the machine then its slows down and shuts off, it built for short heat bursts for say such places as offices, where it would be ideal.
The fan isn’t at all noisy, it’s not silent but I have heard louder, for this reason and the way I used the fan it comes in rather useful durable and help full.
It would also be good in summer when its warm as the heat of option below low means it just moves room temper air around as a fan cooling it at speed, which means this heater fan is ideal for most uses and a bargain at £11.99.
I would recommend this heater has a straight no fuss heater fan if used carefully would last an age but as always and being a value item it may not be made to the best spec or with the best materials so care should always be taken with this machine.
In conclusion from what I know and have used mine for I’m happy with it and happy to recommend it as a heating option for garages, offices front rooms or an emergency heating item if you have a burst pipe or something, It also aids in drying washing in bad weather if you don’t have a tumble dryer much like a hairdryer.
Anyway if you have a heating problem or just need extra heat this machine will do the job for you highly recommended.
