Review summary
A cheap, easy to use heater that is ideal for those looking for an inexpensive solution to heat small rooms. Good safety features and a fantastic price.
During part of my time at university, I lived in a big old house which got very cold in the winter. We had central heating but because of the size of the house it was very costly to use, particularly if there were only a couple of us at home, which happened quite often due to different lecture timetables. For this reason, we decided to invest in a couple of small heaters to heat up individual rooms when we couldn't justify putting the heating on. Being students, we went for the cheapest heaters we could find, choosing the Tesco Value Fan Heaters (model FH11) at £10 apeice. These were also easy for us to get hold of as they were stocked in our local Tesco superstore.

Now this is a nice easy fan heater to use, with a 2000 kilowatt power output and two heat settings. I had a small-ish room and it heated my room sufficiently in about 20 minutes on the higher power setting, and it also warmed up larger rooms relatively quickly. Another bonus of this heater is that it is small in size and very easy to transport. Being portable was important for us as we tended to move it from room to room quite frequently. Paying only £10 per unit, I was quite concerned about whether these heaters would prove safe to use. However, they do have overheat protection to cut the power if they get too hot, and a safety tip-over switch to prevent the heater from being knocked over accidentally.

When taking into account that this is a very basic and inexpensive heater, I wouldn't say that this product has many disadvantages. It doesn't have a rotate feature, and can be a little noisy sometimes, but that's about all I can think of. As it is very small in size it would probably be unsuitable for heating large rooms, but for me it did the job that I bought it to do. The two heaters we purchased also proved pretty durable and lasted well for the year that we lived in our house.

Overall, I'd highly recommend this heater for those looking for a low-cost option to heat small spaces. And at £10 RRP (currently reduced on Tesco Direct's website to £9), I'd say that it's an absolute bargain!
