REVIEW OF TESCO HAND BLENDER **Why I Bought it** My trusty old Braun hand blender gave up the ghost recently and was resigned to the dustbin, so when I saw that Tesco had a similar model, I was tempted to replace it as I have been very pleased with other electrical items from the Tesco Value range . (Shameless plug!...see my reviews on Tesco Value Toaster www.ciao.co.uk/Tesco4T04WValueWReview5803371 & Tesco Value oil filled Radiator www.ciao.co.uk/TescoValueMINIOILFilledRadiatorReview57533 41). I paid £4.39 for the blender at the Tesco Metro Store, Haugh Lane, Hexham, Northumberland. **The ... more

Advantages Advantages Cheap, simple to use.

Disadvantages Disadvantages Has problems with big/ hard pieces of fruit and veg.

At the beginning of December last year our old, all singing, all dancing blender finally gave up the ghost after a long life. Aware that the weather was pretty awful and knowing that around Christmas when I have a bit of extra time I love making soups I decided to get myself a reasonably priced blender just to tide us over until new year when I knew my mum was likely to buy a better, new blender. After buying a couple of appliances from the Tesco Value range previously, I decided to have a look as they're usually really good but just don't look that pretty, but I don't mind this as my blender ... more

I have been making baby food at home now for a while and whilst at home I have a perfectly good Philips Hand Blender that does the job well but when we visit my parents which we do once or twice a week I wanted a hand blender there so I didn't have to keep on carting the Philips blender from one house to another. A quick search in Tescos and I came across their value hand blender which cost me less than £5 which I think was an absolute bargain. Hand blenders are great as when you are making small portions of baby food big juicers and food blenders do not really do the job as the food quantity ... more

Advantages Advantages Very easy to use and clean

Disadvantages Disadvantages Doesn't blend all fruit and vegetables to the same consistency

In my house blenders come and go. I buy them, leave them to gather dust until Mark starts shouting, then get rid. Then I buy another, leave it to gather dust until Mark starts shouting, then get rid. And repeat ad infinitum. Smoothie makers get the same treatment, I'm actually too scared to work out how much cash I've spend on this type of gadget over the years as without even thinking too hard I can picture at least eight blenders that have received this treatment! So how weird that this very cheap Tesco Value hand blender has lasted for such a long time, probably due to the fact that it ... more

Advantages Advantages cheap, easy to use and clean, not too noisy

    Disadvantages Disadvantages None from me

As I have been getting adventurous in the kitchen lately I decided that needed to invest in a hand blender for making soup. As I was not prepared to pay a lot and have had a lot of success with other Value products from Tesco I decided that the hand blender in this range would be quite suitable for my needs. ~~PACKAGING AND DESIGN~~ The hand blender comes in a slim box which is blue and white in colour. It has the Tesco Value logo on the top and a picture of the blender on the front. The back of the box has the same design and the sides are plain blue. Once opened the blender is easy to remove ... more
