Advantages Advantages Cheap, durable, includes dough hooks suitable for light use.

Disadvantages Disadvantages Short power lead, can't be used for prolonged periods without cooling off time.

I own 2 Tesco Value hand mixers. Both are model number HM06, bought a few years apart. The oldest is now nearly 8 years old. I bought it to save me the trouble of getting my large mixer out of a cupboard and set up if I just wanted to beat a few eggs. My kitchen sadly isn't large enough to have all the appliances out that I use on a regular basis. The second HM06 was bought 2 years ago to keep in my holiday caravan. The two hand mixers look identical and are operated in the same way. However the newest purchased of the two has only 2 speeds, compared to the 5 of the older one. Tesco obviously ... more

Advantages Advantages Cheap and does a good job

    Disadvantages Disadvantages Nothing special

I am determined one day to become a domestic goddess, so one thing I am trying to put my hand to at the moment is baking. To assist me with this, I decided I needed a hand whisk to assist me. Pennies are a bit tight at the moment, so I went to my trusty Tesco value range to purchase one. The HM06 was the cheapest one that Tescos do, so I purchased this one. I have to say I was pretty impressed with the £4.18 price tag as lets face it, you won't get one much cheaper! Due to the price tag, I wasn't expecting this to be amazing, but provided it did the intended job, thats all that I really cared ... more

I like to do quite a bit of baking in my spare time and bought this hand mixer from Tesco because my sister had recommended it to me when I was looking for a hand mixer to bake a cake for my fiancé on his birthday. This hand mixer comes with two different attachments, they are chrome dough hooks and also a pair of beaters. The different attachments are easily attached and detached from the hand mixer which makes them easier to clean. There are 5 different speeds on this hand mixer, this is great as sometimes you need to fold ingredients together slowly and the slower speeds are needed in these ... more

Advantages Advantages Does the job when mixing softer ingredients for cakes

Disadvantages Disadvantages The dough hooks don't seem to work, the cord is too short

At just under a fiver, the Tesco Value hand mixer is a bargain. I've never used any other so have nothing to compare it to, but it works like a charm for mixing ingredients. In the box is the body of the hand mixer itself (there are no logos marking it out as a Tesco product, by the way, just a sticker on the bottom which you could remove though I haven't) and two steel beaters and dough hooks. I've never managed to pack it neatly back into the box after the first time I removed it, which is a minor annoyance. It's a simple bit of kit. The beater and hook attachments just click into place, and ... more

    Advantages Advantages price, it works

Disadvantages Disadvantages not very flashy, short flex

I bought myself this mixer after finally caving into electricity after trying to whisk meringues by hand once (not fun!). For the bargainous price tag of about £4.20 - What did I have to lose?! This was at university and I have now had the mixer for over a year and it is still doing ok - so I am doubly pleased with my purchase as it is clearly not false economy. The mixer is white and it comes in the standard red white and blue Tesco value packaging box. It comes in a few parts -the mixer body which has the controls and the handle on it, the beaters and some dough beaters for making bread I ... more
