Tesco Value Instant Hot Chocolate Drink

The one thing I like and have got into the habit of doing lately is to have a Horlicks or a hot chocolate before I go to bed. Its become a bit of a ritual to me now, settles me down and warms me up as the nights are drawing in and getting colder. When it come to hot chocolate I usually go for a known brand like Cadbury's but the prices are high usually and so when I spotted this for only 48p for a large tub of it remembering my mate likes this one and has a tub in her cupboard always I decided it was worth me trying. With a house full of children and an addiction to drinking chocolate I was getting through a huge tub of Cadbury's Hot Chocolate in a week and to be quite honest it was becoming an expense we just couldn't really afford week in and week out but whilst out in Tesco I noticed a product I don't really buy or pay enough attention to because of it's boring and unappealing labeling (oh how we are sucked in by bright packaging). Tesco Value Hot Chocolate Drink currently retails at 59 pence for 400 grams. This does represent excellent value for money when compared with other premium brands such as Cadbury's and Green & Black's. However I bought a jar of this in the mistaken belief that I may be getting a good bargain which would satiate my chocolate addiction. Sadly I was wrong. What I got was a brownish drink which needed more than the recomended measurements to get anything resembling flavour, and to top it all tasted very sugary and this I think was to compensate for the lack of decent cocoa solids in the product.
