I've always had my mobile phones on contract. I have been with Vodafone since the day dot - basically for as long as I had mobiles. Vodafone and I were best friends, we still are. But this is not part of the discussion here. My latest mobile handset is not locked to any particular network and I had been toying with a PAYG SIM card and new phone number I want to use simply for texting a few times a month and very occasional calls. I only need UK coverage with this, I can still make calls from abroad with Vodafone. A second phone would also give me the chance to split my calls between private ... more

Hi, all This a quick review, of a service that i have truly found to be fantastic!! I stumbled accross this one day when i was stuck for a sim card for my mobile. I was i tesco, and saw that they had a sim pack for £2.48!! Unbelievable, i thought, and i snapped one up straight away. Even if i was only to use it for a few months, then it would still be fantastic value. So i got it home, and put it in my phone. It turned out that they were really good value indeed. 10p a minute calls, and 10p texts, though if you assign your favourite numbers on the website, or by phone at registration, texts ... more

I used to be on O2 and buy bolt-ons so I could send hundreds of texts each month for a very low cost. However when I needed to phone anyone it was very expensive on O2 and so I decided to change to Tesco, which offered cheap calls and cheap texts. After a while Tesco expanded their range of tariffs and created Value, which to me offers the best value. The service is limited; there are a number of facilities I had used while on O2 which are not available on the Value tariff. You cannot send or receive picture messages; video messages and you cannot use GPRS. You are only able to make calls and ... more

Tesco Value Mobile Tesco value Mobile is the cheapest network that I have come across, it is ridiculously cheaper than the other networks and even cheaper than the normal "Tesco sim". With Tesco value Mobile you just get the basics calling and texting (but only in the UK). The Tesco network runs on 02 so normally you get signal (it is quite rare that I don't have a signal), 02 has 99% population coverage in the UK. There are two catches with Tesco Value Mobile first you have to buy the sim card from tesco.com and also topping up can not be done without Tesco involved, the way's you can top up ... more

Browsing around tesco I had a look at the pretty DVD case that said "SIM Pack" at about £3.97 I realised it was a good price. Upon looking at the back of the case I was a bit confused as to why there was 3 tariffs, the Tesco Value tariff is the best value for those who dont use their phone that much. For those that use more credit the tesco normal tariff upgrades itself to the better value tesco extra tariff, so all round everyone gets good value. I have found my tesco mobile sim card has saved me a lot of money, why send txts on my contract mobile for 12p when tesco let me send them for just ... more

My daughters Tesco Sim, on an Orange Miami mobile, has given her the message "invalid sim".

We transferred to a Tesco Sim earlier this year, and have had it replaced once when she locked the phone. What can we do to get the phone working again please. You can call me on my mobile - bought in a Tesco store and been a Tesco Sim since purchase. xxxxxxxxxxx I will be calling your customer services too, later today - if I do not hear from you this way.
