Tesco Value Mushy Peas ~
Times are hard at the moment in our household so I now have tightened my belt when I am doing my weekly shop and I will always try to go for the cheaper options, like the shops own brands and the value ranges. I have to say it isn't always successful, and I have made a few mistakes, but this tin of value mushy peas were just fine and I would most certainly be sticking with these in the future.
~~~ Contents ~~~
When you open the tin the contents are surprisingly not as 'fluorescent' green as some of the branded names are which to me was a little reassuring as I don't like the idea of too many additives and colours in my foods. The consistency seemed very good, being packed full of the peas and only a little liquid floating at the top. When I tried to pour the peas out I had to get a spoon to scrape them out of the tin which pleased me as I thought there were lots of peas for the money.
~~~ The Taste ~~~
Well yes they taste like peas ........ but it is a nice pea taste, there is no bitterness to them or nasty back taste, in fact they taste quite sweet and natural flavoured.
~~~ Cost ~~~
These are available in Tesco for a mere 18p for a 300g tin ...... a real bargain!
