One of the things I regulary buy to keep in my bathroom to wipe down all of it including my lamanate floor is disinfectant. Penny pinching at the moment this time I decided to buy a cheap bottle and this costing 31p for a 1L bottle seemed ideal to me to try out.
The Packaging:
Well like I have just mentioned the bottle holds 1L of the disinfectant which happens to be a transparant emerald green colour and it has a twist on/off white cap to the top of it and then on the front of the bottle we are told that it is Tesco 'Value' Pine Disinfectant and there is a picture shown of pine cones. On the back of the bottle other information listed includes being told how to effectively use the product, storage and warnings are listed along with being told the composition of it and contact details for Tesco are given. This is cheap but straightforward looking packaging.
Using It:
Well directions for using it are on the back the bottle and are as follows;
For general duties such as disinfecting walls, floors, walls, tiles and other washable surfaces we are advised to use 8 capfuls of this highly smelling pine disinfectant to 5 Litres of cold water, for toilets, sinks and drains 6 capfuls can be used undiluted and laundry 8 capfuls per 5 litres and that is advised for cleaning nappies and sickroom linens and the likes.
Me, well like I stated at the top of this review I always use disinfectant in my bathroom after I got bleach, far too often on my clothes and the likes. I do mix up some of this with cold water and wipe down my tiles, my lamantate floor after sweeping it and my toilet, sink and bath. I also every night do put a couple of capfuls of this undiluted into the bowl however this doesn't have a nozzel so you can't direct it under the rim.
Does it kills germs though? Well I'm no scientist I'm just a homeowner who want to keep her flat bug/germ free, for it to look and feel clean and to smell fresh for a time and this does make my small room feel clean and leaves the scent lingering for a good couple of hours too. A little of this goes a long way, doesn't stain anything but do remember this isn't really meant to clean heavy soiled areas and is meant to disinfectant though I do wipe over dusty areas and the likes with it and it works great
