What is it about Tesco Value Products that makes them seem so utterly unappealing? After all, we're all grown ups now. We're media savvy, we don't need a picture of a glisteningly ripe orange dripping with mountain dew in order to persuade us that what's inside the carton is, in fact, orange juice. And yet as soon as I pick up that blue and white pinstripe package, my mind suddenly fills with the unshakeable image of a fat old woman in a stained dress, sat on a broken toilet in a disused warehouse, clawing at the skins of the oranges with yellow-black fingernails and squeezing the over-ripe, fetid juice from the flesh between calloused, warty palms into a sepia-stained chamber pot. Now I'm not suggesting for an instant that this is how Tesco make their Value Orange Juice. Indeed, it would be incredibly surreal if it was. But would it be too much to ask just to paint the carton orange and have done with it. That would be fine. Those blue and white stripes though. Honestly, they might as well just put a picture of a fat old woman on the front and call it Sweaty Old Fat Woman's Hand Squeezed Dirty Diseased Orange Juice. Marketing might have something to say about it, I imagine, but what do they know?
But if you can get past the image, what is the juice itself actually like? To be honest, it's okay. It's no Del Monte, but as far as I can tell, it's pretty much indistinguishable from Tesco Own Brand orange juice, but at about half the price (around forty pee). Aren't we fools, really, to pay the extra just for a nice picture on the box? Well, I don't know. Imagine, for instance, that you meet a nice young lady at a fashionable nightspot and invited her back to your flat or house for a nightcap. Imagine that she asks you for an orange juice. Imagine further that you saunter back into the living room in your sophisticated dressing gown, perhaps smoking a pipe, with a Tesco Value Orange Juice carton swinging from your hip. If I know anything about nice young ladies from fashionable nightspots, she'll immediately peg you as a tight-arsed scrubber and make her excuses. (If you are a non-lesbian woman or a gay man, just reverse the gender of the participants in this little story and it will all make sense.)
So that's the problem with this product. Okay, it doesn't taste great. It tastes quite bitter and pithy, but this in itself is surmountable. Simply chuck in half a bottle of vodka (I recommend Kirov) and you'll be too busy choking over the alcohol fumes to even notice. But nothing can overcome the problem of image, unless you're prepared to decant your OJ, which is frankly ridiculous. You KNOW it's just orange juice. You KNOW that the carton has sod-all to do with what's inside. In that rational, sensible, logical part of your brain, you KNOW that you should be saving your money and putting up with that package. But then, my friends, in the dark, irrational corner of your psyche, as you raise that pinstripe carton to your lips, you can often hear, as if in a dream, the guttural, gritty, grating voice of the Fat Old Woman: "More oranges, Steve! I've squeezed all these! Just off to the toilet where I don't plan to wash my hands! Why change the habit of a lifetime! Eh heh heh heh!! HEH HE HEHH! I AM SO FAT AND SWEATY!!"
If you can put up with that, good luck to you. But don't say I didn't warn you.
Advantages: Taste good, value for money Disadvantages: None for me, Some may be put off by cheap packaging
...admit that I shop in Tesco because it is the nearest shop to me and not because it is the best or cheapest. One good thing about them is their value range. A vast selection of products that are of a high standard with competitive prices. Today ladies and gentlemen, I am going to talk about their very own orange juice.
Packaging
********
Well as you would expect, plain and simple. This 1 litre carton is mostly white with the tell tale blue stripes. ... ...and on the other, the Tesco quality and their contact details.
They state that the cartons "contains 4 servings" but that would depend on the size of your glass surely!
Nothing really eye-catching here but they do guarantee the quality which to me, is more important than something that just looks good in your cupboard.

In my opinion, great value. Priced at £0.42, Tesco ensure you can still buy quality pure orange juice even on ...

...topic of this opinion - Tesco Value Pure Orange Juice.
Packaging
Let’s just say that it’s not exactly subtle. In fact it’s so obvious from the packaging that you have selected the most cheapest item in the range. It’s a very basic white 1 litre carton which sports numerous blue vertical stripes. The word “value” is highlighted in red for all to see. So unless you are like me and past caring about image and can ... ...would recommend you place it strategically out of sight under other more reputable brands.
Taste and Value
Okay. So it isn’t the sweetest of orange but never-the-less it does the job it is meant to and in comparison to more expensive brands it holds its own quite well. It is a smooth orange juice i.e. no juicy bits, which although disappoints me, it pleases my son somewhat. But then again...what do you expect for 38p! Yes you heard (or read) ...

...however, during a trip to Tesco I found myself parting with 35p and purchasing a Carton of their Value Pure Orange Juice.
The Packaging
If you are not familiar with Tesco's Value range then I will begin by saying that it is all packaged pretty much the same. The emphasis is on cheap and basic so one thing that you can be certain of, if its from their Value range then the packaging is going to be plain and simple. The Pure Orange Juice is packaged ... ...Conclusion
I did really enjoy this Tesco Value Pure Orange Juice and I will definitely buy it again. I found It to be very similar to the Asda Smartprice Pure Orange Juice which also costs 35p for the same size 1 Litre Carton.

Advantages: Cheap, nutricious, refreshing and versatile Disadvantages: not squeezed by a perky breasted young maiden
...carton of….ORANGE JUICE.
This Tesco variety – the ‘Value’ range – comes in an extremely basic tetra brik of white with dark blue stripes. The packaging straightaway indicates it is from their ‘basic’ range. All supermarkets have them. Cheap n cheerful – with emphasis on the cheap. But at just 39p for a litre carton, Tesco’s own will do me fine. Please don’t expect this OJ to be ‘premium’ quality in any way. It will not have been freshly squeezed ... ...for a litre, whereas this Tesco Value brand is a mere 39p – like I said. So for an everyday drink - and lets not forget it's packed full of Vitamin C - or especially in Summer as a real thirst quencher, this is about as cheap as you can get. But – I hear you ask – is it any good? Bottom line – it tastes like Orange Juice. No added sugar and made from concentrated OJ (unlike something like Libby’s or other Orange Juice ‘drink’ brands, loads of additives ...

Advantages: TASTES GOOD Disadvantages: BIT TOO MUCH SUGAR
Tesco Value pure orange Juice.... Its cheep and it's worth it.
I'm not going to bother saying what it is as I'm sure you all know by the name.
MY EXPERIENCE......
I really like a glass of orange juice with my breakfast but I never used to buy it as it was too expensive and I used to get it as a treat but when I went into Tesco one day I noticed this juice and the price just being 50p so I brought a carton and took it home and when I tried it I ... ...PRESENTATION......
As it is Tesco value it comes in the boring blue and white carton with a picture of a glass of orange juice on it surrounded by whole oranges, it does look quite appealing but not like some others that have a tropical background. On the presentation on the front it also gives you your guideline daily amount on it and I like to see this as I am kind of wary on my guideline daily intake as I would like to stay healthy.

Advantages: Cheap, chearful and makes a large quantity Disadvantages: not very pleasant taste, bad ingredients and not very healthy
reccomend anything but as this is so bad for your teeth and body with all the sweetners and artifical colours. Sainsburys basic apple juice, pure that is, or tescosvalue equivalent pureorangejuices are only 58p a litre and much much better for you, doesn't leave that rancid pungent aftertaste of this cordial and is actualy fairly affordable especially if your numbers are below 30 for a BBQ or picnic affair.
Thanks you for reading and I hope everyone is enjoying the summer sun! Mintz x ...
Advantages: Excellent price, great taste Disadvantages: Bright packaging would discourage snobs! LOL!
Ok so I have asked you all if you?re too much of a snob to buy TescoValuePureOrangeJuice and got a mixed response. Well I?m still not ashamed of buying good value products however garish the packaging and guess what I found last week in Tesco?s?
They have extended the range of ?value? pure fruit drinks to include apple and grapefruit. There may also have been pineapple too, but as I find this too sickly I didn?t really notice. I?ll have a look for you next time I?m in there.
Since we were expecting guests I decided to stock up on fruit juices including apple juice, which isn?t normally a favourite of mine, but my Goddaughter loves it.
The TescoPureValue Apple Juice comes complete with the same ?value? packaging, as every other product in the ?value? range and that is white with a series of blue vertical stripes ...
Advantages: Tastes great, low price Disadvantages: Doesn't last very long!!
Well, things just get better and better on the pure fruit juice front! Tesco have now started making my real favourite in their value range!
Lets have three cheers for TescoValuePure Grapefruit Juice!
I have been using the orangejuice for ages now, but only recently noticed that they also make apple juice in the same range, but now they make grapefruit juice as well, so I am a really happy bunny!
I love to drink pure grapefruit juice just as it is and it also tastes lovely poured over my fresh fruit salad, but for sheer indulgence my favourite tipple is gin and grapefruit and this is juice is just perfect! Sadly, being diabetic, I have to be careful about alcohol these days, but, hey, a little of what you fancy and all that!
Anyway I suppose I had better tell you about the juice, after all I guess that?s why you ...
