Tesco Value Stawberry Cheesecake
I decided to buy this as I love cheesecake, but no one else in my household does. I knew it would probably not be as good as a full size version, but at least I could have a taste of it from time to time.

Advantages: It comes in a single portion. Disadvantages: Watery - soggy biscuit base - cheese layer has a foamy texture.
...of the value range at Tesco and so has the blue and white cheap looking packaging and has the notable VALUE logo. It's shelf life wasn't too long, but that is probably unlucky on my part.
It is in a cheap looking plastic tub and has three layers of a type of strawberry gel on top, a soft cheese layer and of course a biscuit base. Calories wise it contains 225 calories and 9.4g of fat (3.8g are saturates).

On opening it's aroma is quite pleasant, the positive experience ends there...
Opinion
The topping had only a whiff of strawberry, it was a kind of runny gel and not very appetizing to be honest. With cheesecake you often get strawberry pieces, but in this portion, there wasn't any. Perhaps it is the sort of thing to eat if you have a tooth out and have to eat soft food!
The largest part was the cheese bit, but this resembled a mousse and was very foam like. Taste wise I couldn't detect any type of cheese and whilst it didn't taste unpleasant, it didn't really taste of anything.
The biscuit base was tiny and really soggy. It wasn't crisp or crunchy at all and as this is my favourite part it was a bit disappointing. In fact I wouldn't be able to identify this as a digestive biscuit base at all.
The fact that I only ate half of it and threw the rest away is not a good advert for this product. Yes it is in a single portion, but that is were the plus points end.
I am usually a fan of most things in the value range - but every so often you do find a duffer! Just because something is cheap doesn't mean you have to put up with poor quality food. The whole thing just felt very mass produced - just off a production line.
I think that I am being very generous in giving it 2 stars. This is in part, because I found it difficult to find any other brand offering something similar, but overall I think that you are better sticking to eating it at a restauant or buying a large size. I am going to test some full size versions and see if it is possible to freeze and portion it up.
Or I may stop being lazy and have a go at making my own!!

Who says Tesco Value food isn't up to scratch? Well on the contrary my dear Watson...here's a small dessert that is second to none - their individual strawberry cheesecake. Found in the yoghurts section of your local Tesco, these 100 gram pots cost around the 40p mark. They may not look the most appealing of desserts - in a clear plastic pot with a foil lid with the words Tesco Value inscribed on it. Hardly a great advertisment, but fear not, once ... ...base, but remember, you're eating Tesco Value here so there can be no qualms about it's quality in comparison with the price. The soft cheesecake is light and will melt in the mouth. Again, you can find richer tasting cheesecake filling out there, but for an individual dessert at such a cheap price, it's got to be considered an excellent tasting cheesecake. Here's the ingredients list for you all... Strawberries (19%), Digestive Crumb (17%) (Wheat ...

Advantages: Cheap as Chips Disadvantages: Had Dodgy taste, and not fat enough!
finally developed sensible taste buds. Either way since then I have never bough Tesco cookies again, I am tempted to try to do so again sometime, and will add to this review to let you know if they have changed. (I must make it clear here I am definitely not dissing the tesco brand, as they offer the finest strawberrycheesecake and many other fine tescovalue products. (see the tesco review for more info). It would be interesting to see if they made cookies from the Tesco Finest brand, and see how good they are.
The best cookies money can buy are: Tennessee Cookies - these are giant American cookies, can be bought from LIDL, - but these are expensive like £1.00 a pack and you get maybe 15 (don't quote me on that), the more sensible best cookies are maryland's which are great. These do not break when you dip them quite as quickly as ...
