I am buying more and more value products these days, especially tinned food! What could be different about one tin of sweetcorn that has a brand name to it, and one that is value? Nothing is different in terms of taste or appearance of this product!

I love sweetcorn and have always bought green giant until i bought my own house, and had to start buying my own food! I always have lots of these value tins of sweet corn in my kitchen cupboard, as there are so many different meals you can add these to.

We have sweetcorn in shephards pie, casseroles, salads, soups, pasta dishes and also just on its own with a meal like sausage and mash or a roast dinner. I like to add some butter to mine to make it even tastier.

It is my favourite type of vegetable, it is so sweet and easy to eat. The sweetcorn in this value tin does not taste any different at all to the green giant sweetcorn!

A tin of this sweet corn counts as one of your five a day, although i think these are quite high in calories for a vegetable? They have 105 calories per 80g serving, which is a lot in my opinion. Tesco have added water, sugar and salt to this tin of sweetcorn, which is where the extra calories must be coming from.

A 325g tin of this sweetcorn only costs 33p in tescos, which is a bargain! They also do this sweetcorn in a value frozen bag, which i also keep in if i cant be bothered opening a tin of sweetcorn. As it is quite a big tin, i always end up having to put some in a container and keep it in the fridge to use another day, however with the bag of frozen sweetcorn you can just pour out the amount you want to use, which is easier.

To heat this tin of sweetcorn up on it own, just gently heat on the hob for 3 minutes or cook on full power in the microwave for 1 minute. Just drain the sweetcorn and it is ready to serve!

The only bad thing about this product, as you find with all tesco value tins, they have no ring pull version! But if they did a ring pull version the price might go up so im happy with just using a tin opener!

I would highly recommend this product, it is no different to real brands!
