Advantages Advantages Gets your clothes clean

Disadvantages Disadvantages You have to do washing

My review today is in response to Judgee’s challenge to make a boring product seem interesting. Well here goes……. We have to wash clothes. We don’t have a choice unless we don’t mind looking like tramps or the undead in Michael Jackson’s “Thriller” video. Washing is a subject close to my heart. No I don’t mean my morning ablutions, I mean the washing of clothes in our house. Most days, my utility room has two or three piles of washing on the floor waiting to go in the machine and on Saturday when I change the beds, the washing machine is on all day, and the utility room floor is obliterated. I ... more

    Advantages Advantages cheap and effective

Disadvantages Disadvantages no net bag enclosed

Just as I was about to hang out the washing,it started to rain.So what did I do? Have a coffee? Start the dusting? No I logged on to Ciao! My neighbour always seems to appear for a chat when I hang out the washing and I was recommending Tesco tablets to her so I thought I'd do an op as well. I have always been a Persil girl and we buy it in France due to the much cheaper price. As I could not find anybody channel-hopping,I trudged off to Tesco muttering about the imminent cost of a big box of Persil.I use a big box because I live with a chef and wash his chef whites every week.Does anybody know ... more

Advantages Advantages Less mess and waste

Disadvantages Disadvantages may not soften as much as using a separate conditioner

Whoa, this is an exciting product to write about innit? Still, it's a dirty job but someone's gotta do it! ;o) I'm quite new to the world of washing machines - I only got my first one (a hand-me-down) about 3 years ago at the grand age of 32 and had previously spent my adult laundry sessions either at a launderette or doing it by hand. So it naturally follows that I'm not so well up on laundry products either but of the few powders I've used in the past I find them messy and there is a lot of waste by either using too much or the sticky globs that tend to build up and stay in the little ... more

Advantages Advantages cheap, does the job, makes your clothes smell nice

Disadvantages Disadvantages can be a bit too crumbly

I started buying these tablets as part of an economy drive. I was pleasantly surprised. They're good value, make your clothes smell nice and clean pretty well. I don't wash a lot of whites so I can't comment on how effective it is with them, but certainly it maintains the colour of your clothes as it promises to. They're great value, about £3/£4 for 24 tablets and they're also available in 48 tablet boxes. I normally use 2 at a time for the best results and place them in the little bag that you get in each box. They do have tendancy to dissolve as you take them out of the package which can be ... more

Advantages Advantages reasonably priced, no mess and cleans well

Disadvantages Disadvantages weak smell and they don't always dissolve on a low heat wash

I have quite sensitive skin and have always used persil non-biological as it was what my mum used. I never really paid attention to what else was on the shelves until baby number one appeared and wanting to justify staying off work I went on a major economy drive. We usually shop in Tesco so I tried their non-biological tablets. To be honest I used to be a bit of a label snob and I didn't hold out much hope. However I was really surprised by these tablets - for a start they didn't bring me out in a rash and the clothes were as clean as they were with persil. I have used them ever since ... more
