Advantages easy to use site
Disadvantages delivery time and out of stocks
We regularly do our shopping on the internet, be it Iceland, Tesco, Sainsbury's, we were even using the net to shop when good old Somerfield and even Budgens were offering the service.
But when I mention Tesco.com, I mean that this is the one that we use the least, infact hardly ever.The reasons for this are as follows.
~~~HOW EASY IS THE SITE TO USE?~~~The site was extremely easy to use, easier than the other stores, and this I have to say was Tesco's strongest point in the service.
You can create a shopping list to use every week or however often you do the shop. And its easy to add or take away a produt or two if you don't need it this time.Special offers are the same ones that you would find in a Tesco store, and are clearly marked either nerxt to the product listing itself, or can be found in the offers section of the site.
~~~HOW EASY IS IT TO SIGN UP TO TESCO.COM?~~~Very. All you have to do is give your name and adress, contact number and email adress, and you are ready to go straight away. I remember
when you had to pay 50p for a CD in the Tesco store to load onto your PC which was very time consuming.
This is one of the resons why we no longer use the Tesco.com service, as last time we did, there were about 8/30 products that didnt show because 'Sorry, this item was temporarily unavailable at the time of shopping'. I mean 8/30 is pretty bad dont you think?
Mind you it's worse if you actually visit the stores.Tesco insist on doing the shopping in their stores, which, puts me off realy. As the unavailability rate at our local Tesco is outragous, therefore the unavailability rate will be the same when shopping on-line. Terrible. Asda and Sainsbury use 'picking centres' so the chances of an out of stock when shopping with them will be considerably lower.
~~~DELIVERY~~~The other reson we no longer use Tesco.com is that on two occasions the shopping has been late by at least 1/2 an hour. When phoning the store to find out where it was we were told 'I don't know'.
Deivery used to cost £5, but they now charge over £6 if your shopping is delivered at peak times, and les at off peak times, or at least they were cosidering this.~~~CAN I USE MY CLUBCARD?~~~
Yes you can, all you have to do is give Tesco your clubcard number when you sign up to use the service.~~~OVERALL!~~~
Well. I give Tesco 2 stars for the site, but only two stars for the delivery time and out of stocks.www.tesco.com
thanks for the read, hope you have found it helpful, and please comment and rate! mike xx
I haven't used the online service but I agree totally with you that Tescos are always running out of things - especially the essentials. Helen
I`ve heard a few people who have had problems with Tesco.com. I think the problem is the service has become too popular and Tesco are struggling to cope. Stuart
