I usually make sure I have a few basic vegetables in my freezer as can find buying fresh a pain and inconvenient as they go off so quickly, but am also not a big fan of tinned veg. Tesco garden peas are really handy for this purpose and great to have in as a stand by.
The peas come in a plastic bag, which has a basic picture of peas on the front - basic but it does the job. To use you simply cut the corner off the packet. The only thing that I find with packaging like this is that I often find loose peas rolling around my freezer - a resealable bag would come in handy!I won't lie, the reason that I buy these peas is that they are the cheapest variety on offer. And frozen peas are frozen peas, right? In my opinion, these offer good value for money as each bag contains at least 7 or 8 servings. The peas themselves taste good, and fresh. Once cooked, there really is no taste difference with fresh peas. The peas can tend to 'clump' in the package and freeze together, but once added to boiling water this isn't a problem. Great value, good taste.
