This is one of my favourite vegetarian ready meals. I mostly shop in Tesco so I've tried many of their vegetarian foods and this is up there. It is a 410g microwaveable meal for one which takes between 5 and 6 minutes depending on your microwave, it can also be oven cooked in 20-25 minutes. It costs £1.99 and is suitable for freezing. It has 2 very tasty, herby sausages which are Tofu based served with an onion gravy sauce which is nice and thick with pieces of onion in it. The mash is very creamy and there is plenty of it. I find this meal filling and tasty and not plasticky like some ready made meals. It tastes very like an Irish Pub chains own vegetarian sausage and mash.
Advantages: Not many calories, not much saturated fat Disadvantages: Not much taste
't even say that they taste horrible or bad. They just don't taste like nothing at all.
Which is horrible .
My husband had his first bite by now an quietly drenches his sausage in ketchup.
I won't give in that fast and survive another 3 bites. I have to find out if there is something I've missed on the first bite, just to give a proper statement, certainly not out of joy. Unfortunately there isn't and my taste buds seem to formate to start a riot.
Darling, could you hand me the brown sauce, please ?
My final verdict :
For all those who want to lose weight certainly an option, although there are better vegetariansausages then this one. We prefer Linda McCartneys or TescosVegetarian Lincolnshire sausages and I have no intention of buying this product again. As a dish, served with lots of gravy and mash they might also be interesting ...
