Advantages: Fun to browse both for those personal indulgences and for presents for people, not too bad on the price, massive selection Disadvantages: Postage can cost a lot, some of the gadgets are pointless.

I first discovered this site due to a product placement in PC Format for T-shirts that light up in night clubs ("Now I can flash at women and not get arrested. Yay!" - yes, my partner thinks I should seek mental help too...) so I decided to have a quick look. At the time I was a bit rushed for time to I bookmarked the site and forgot about it. Then a few days ago when I was ... ...place is an Aladdin's cave of useful gadgets, boys and girls toys (of the clean type), food type things, useless tat that you probably can live without and other weird and wonderful things. The main problem is there is so much of the stuff. I went for a trawl through it and I probably spent around £10K before my partner threatened to cut my bank card up just to make sure I couldn't actually buy any of it. And thats the main problem with the site.

Advantages: Loads of choice of gifts. Email reminder service. Disadvantages: You may spend a lot.

The website is well presented and offers a variety of options for browsing from the homepage. The doggy logo (can't quite work it out…doggy eyes and doggy paws) is tucked into the top left hand corner and the dancing groovy ...

Advantages: Wide ranges available Disadvantages: watch for postage cost
...of my search I found thedoghouse.co.uk came out slightly on top. There wasn't much in it with postage costs, but the price of the goods I chose were just that bit cheaper.
For example - One heart shaped rainbow maker from prezzybox.com costs 18.95gbp with 2.95gbp delivery, as opposed to the same from thedoghouse.co.uk being 16.99gbp for the rainbow maker and 2.99gbp for delivery.
It definitely pays to shop around when browsing online. The selection ... ...and the nice people at thedoghouse.co.uk will add a gift tag to your order.
There aren't as many payment options on thedoghouse.co.uk as on some sites, for example they don't accept Electron, which a lot of sites are beginning to do now. But they do accept the standard switch, visa, mastercard, delta etc.
I managed not to spend too much here, but I was pleased at getting a few presents that I wouldn't have been able to get on the high street. Placing ...

Advantages: Helpful service, large choice of gifts, secure site. Disadvantages: Too much stuff to look at in one sitting!
This year I decided well before Christmas that I would have a look online at some of the novelty gift sites, thus saving me having to traipse about a shopping centre like everybody else, getting agitated and somewhat pre-menstrual at all the crowds and queues and unhelpful till staff. Note: I don't think all till staff are unhelpful, but some are, and when I'm feeling particularly stressed with Christmas shopping looming, personalities seem to clash.
... ...and harder to buy for. Gone are the days where as a little girl I could just spend my money in charity shops buying pretty sparkly horse or flower ornaments, (it was deemed 'cute' when I was 5 years old I think, now my mums collection seems to have started breeding!) plus I didn't think my Dad would appreciate a nice girly ornament for his guy-like computer desk!
