...who she was.
From the first page of that book i was a hooked fan everything about her was so intriguing and the pictures in the book where truely amazing, at the age of 13 when maybe i should of wanted to be like the spice girls like most other girls my age i was classing marilyn monroe as a beautiful woman who after reading about her life i deeply admired.

I remember being 13 and my uncle borrowing me a book on a lady named marilyn monroe! a name i had heard before but never really understood who she was. So 11 years on and i have to say iam still a great fan of the biggest sex symbol in hollywood to this day, but her sex symbol image is not why iam a fan of hers its her background and the on going struggle of her life and quest to find happiness that makes me a fan.
After reading many books on her life and death and the mystery that surronds most of it i must admit i was getting a little bored of reading the same things over and over again most books on marilyn tend to tell you about her hard childhood and her mothers mental illness and the fact she was moved from foster home to childrens home untill she married they normally go on to tell you about how she made it in hollywood, dont get me wrong this is all a great read but i want something new when i read another marilyn book not the book i just read in different words.
So there i was shopping in asda when i saw The Assassination of Marilyn Monroe Hmmmm i thought should i bother? i mean its just going to tell me about the strange goings on the night she died and the fact that some people belive the kennedys had something to do with it and again its something ive read about a million times before can i really be botherd? With my partner and 2 kids growing very bored i put the book back on the shelf only to walk back again and pick it up! what the hell ive nothing to read and its only a fiver!! Best £5 i ever spent!!!! the book is fantastic there are no other words to describe it and i have the highest respect for Donlad H Wolfe *writter* after reading the book, the hard work and research that went into making it is unbeliveable. The book starts at the end if you like, a day or two before marilyn dies it goes into great detail about what happened in those days and the night she died.
It then goes on to tell you about her "links" to the kennedys, i have to say if you are a fan of the kennedys then i would not read this book because it is basicly pointing the finger at them for marilyns death nothing strange there iam sure you think? wrong again because the hard facts that this book comes up with left me with my mouth wide open things ive never heard in any book that ive read. These facts are not just rumors there is evidence to back up 8 out of 10 of the things they are telling you. Before this book i was on the fence about how marilyn died but in all honesty after reading it i truely belive she was killed because the evidence in this book from prime witnesses ( Eunice Murray's son in law ) who was at the house the whole day and night she died and was never even asked a single question by the police? he is just one of many really but i dont want to spoil it. Iam trying not to write what these facts are for anyone who wants to go and buy the book but if you are thinking about getting it i suggest you do its one of the best marilyn books ive ever read.
The book goes around in one big circle really it starts a few days before she dies and then goes right back to her childhood to certain points that later explain about the way she behaved with the kennedys. it then follows her into her first marrage, her first modeling job, her first film her first meeting with the kennedys ( and that i can tell you was alot earlier than you may think), her on going struggle to get a good part, her second marrage to Joe DiMagio her life with him, then there split. It then follows on to her 3rd marrage and her work, then it follows certain parts of her life with arthur miller and then to there split. And basicly brings you around in a full circle to the months/weeks/days before her death but inbetween all of this there are important meetings, goings on and affairs with certain men and of course the kennedys. The book also takes you right back into the life of JFK and a look at his part in the whole "story" it does this with a few important people such as Eunice Murray, Dr Ralph Greenson and some close friends of marilyn. In the middle of the book i got the feeling it had lost its way and started wondering why it was going on about certain things, i was wrong eventually all of these little "side storys" come together to paint one very shocking and quite honestly disturbing picture. There really is not much more i can say without giving away very important parts of the book and i dont want to do that.
Overall~
This book is a real eye opener, the work and research that have gone into it are amazing. The story itself is almost that shocking you would think it had been written as a film. The facts in the book are mindblowing and because this book was so well reseached there is a back stroy or fact or witness to go along with most of the shocking revelations. I think this book is maybe the one that comes very very close to the shocking truth of what happened to marilyn monroe and its worth a read from all fans and people who just fancy a good book and have a slight interest in what happend to her.
You can pick the book up in loads of places, like i said i came across mine in asda for £5!! thats nothing, local book shops may be able to order it in for you but this may reflect in the cost. Try ebay! i say it all the time lol but you can find books on there for pennys so its worth a look. As for the online shops play.com has the book for £7.49 with free delivery so thats not to bad, but amazon has the book for £4 so where ever you buy it, its going to be pretty cheap.
I hope this review has sparked enough curiosity for you to go and buy the book because it really is a fantastic read.

Review of The Assassination of Marilyn Monroe - Donald H. Wolfe
...at all" ….. Candle in The Wind, Elton John
Those lyrics by Elton John pretty well summed up my thoughts on Marilyn Monroe, having seen her in only a few films and on posters, I was only really aware of the conspiracies surrounding her mysterious death but had never really given her much thought. That was until Mrs. CFC was rummaging through some old books and came across "The Assassination of Marilyn Monroe" by Donald H. Wolfe, which she suggested ... ...it up and over the last fortnight I have become very enlightened to not only the legend which was, and still is, Marilyn Monroe but also to the very strange circumstances which surrounded her death.
The book opens up with the events surrounding her death on Sunday August 5th 1962, where she was found dead in her bedroom, presumed to have committed suicide through an overdose of barbiturates. Over the following chapters Wolfe goes into all the facts ...
