I can't believe no one else has reviewed this. In case people don't know, Richard Bachmans is the alias that Steven King uses when he wants to write something a bit different.
The Bachman books are a compilation of short stories and they are brilliant. My personal favourite is The Long Walk, set in future America (not too far though), when teenage boys compete to be entered into the Long Walk. 100 finalists then walk across Central America, until they drop basically. If you break the rules you are shot and the walk continues until one boy is left. The descriptive narrative of this story is King .. ahem sorry... Bachman at his best.
