Advantages Imaginations run free, humour, language

Disadvantages wanting more and not going to bed

I read his books when I was still a small girl in primary school. Now I still keep his collections and have an omnibus. The only regret I have is not bringing my books over. Fret not, cos holidays just started and I FOUND Roald Dahl's treasury in my university's library.

I don't think I'll feel shy because I love his books alot. I've learnt english by reading his books as well and now? writing a review on it.lol.

The BFG is a friendly giant in the land of giants who does not eat small human beans( human beings). But one day, having no choice, he had to kidsnatch (kidnap) Sophie, who is an orphan from the orphanage. he brought her to his scary world of giants where fat ugly giants always go out at night to countries to find different human beans to eat according to their selection of their food taste. According to this story, human beans from different countries taste different. Some might taste bad, some hot, and some are just nice ( and however Mr Dahl described)

Sophie became good friends with the friendly giant because he don't eat human beans but Snozzcumbers that aren't very tasty. He is a dream-blowing giant who blows dreams into each sleeping child so that all the children will have good dreams. Besides that, Sophie learnt alot from this BFG about his food called the Snozzcumbers, how he made 'NICE MUSIC' when he drink from his favourite drink that oddly have bubbles that float downwards instead of upwards.

England was going to face an attack from the other bad giants when Sophie and BFG combine brain powers to save the country and defeat the giants with their ideas. Swiftly, they both worked together with important people like the Queen and become heros of the day.

That's a very brief summary of the story. I don't really like the idea of bringing out the conclusion as well, but then again, there's still lots more to read and discover from the book.

The book is great, although it might be childish for some adults( well, cos I'm an adult but I still reads it) , it's great for leisure and also great for children as it is interesting and keep their enthusiasm for reading lifted.

Ah, you learn the English from the Roald Dahl? That explains the odd grammar and punctuation at times. Where are you from? You have come to UK for University? There are many more authors you should enjoy! jes ≈≈≈≈{; -)-{{::::: |||||<</html>

A great fun book, and enjoyed it as an adult, don't think it was written when I was a child. Sue
