Full review
I have been a big fan of Body Shop Butter range for a good few years now, and I am yet to find another like product in the same price range that performs as well as the Body Shop range.

What is Body Butter?

Body butter is body moisturiser that is very thick and has the consistence of butter, hence the name. Body Shop has a whole range of “Flavours” and I say flavours as they all smell good enough to eat. The cocoa butter is community traded, so that in buying Body Shop Products you know you a making a small difference to the lives of less fortunate people in developing countries.

How is it Packaged?

The product comes packaged in round screw top containers, the Blueberry one comes in a bright blue tub with a label printed on the lid showing lots of juicy blueberries.

The words “Body Butter” are printed in white lettering in a half circle around the left hand side of the label. In the centre of the label it the Body Shop logo with Blueberry printed under it and the words Dry Skin.

In the back of the tub is a short description of the product and the Community Trade logo is printed underneath which the source countries of all the products are listed. Is informs you also that no Body shop products are tested on animals.

Underneath that is a full list of ingredients and the Body Shop contact details.

Each tub contains 200ml of product

What is the Product Actually Like?

The product is as mentioned earlier, a very thick butter like cream. It smells divine, with a lovely blueberry fragrance. It does not smell chemically as some like product tend to do as real blueberries are used in the manufacturing process.

When is it Best Applied?

I like to use this product after a bath or shower as is recommended on the back of the tub. A little of this product goes a long way due to the richness of the cream, and I would caution against using too much of this as it does take quite some time to sink in and you may find it leaves you feeling greasy. I find that a butter beans sized amount is ample to do one full leg.

Once applied I usually wait a good ten minutes before dressing to give the product good time to soak in.

How Much Does It Cost?

The normal price for the product is £9.99 but you can usually get it a little cheaper in the sales, which are held quite regularly.

Where Can I Buy It?

Obviously you can buy direct for the shops, which are present in most towns and cities.

The Body Shop also run a Body Shop at home network, which are basically parties held in peoples homes where you can get together with friends and enjoy learning about the product and sampling them in the comfort of a home environment. The few parties that I have been to have always been informative and fun and I have never felt pressured into buying anything, though I usually do.

You cannot currently buy online in the UK, although you can see most of the product range online at www.thebodyshop.com

I will finish off my review with a little about the company, The Body Shop.

The Body Shop are:

• Against Animal Testing
• Support Community Trade
• Activate Self Esteem
• Defend Human Rights
• Protect Our Planet

The following information is from the Body Shop website

“The Body Shop rapidly evolved from one small shop in Brighton on the south coast of England, with only around 25 hand-mixed products on sale, to a worldwide network of shops. Franchising allowed for rapid growth and international expansion as hundreds of entrepreneurs worldwide bought into Anita's vision.
The Company's campaigns against human rights abuses, in favour of animal and environmental protection and its commitment to challenge the stereotypes of beauty perpetuated by the cosmetics industry, have won the support of generations of consumers. The company continues to lead the way for businesses to use their voice for social and environmental change”
