Review of "The Body Shop Blueberry Body Butter"
I am a nightmare when it comes to Body Butters and Body Lotions, I always have about half a dozen on the go at any one time. The thing is I use the one that suits my mood each day. I soon get bored of a product like this if I use it day in day out so like to chop and change. This is one of the current choices I have open. This is a limited edition Body Butter currently on sale from The Body Shop and is half price so rather than being £12.00 it is now £6.00 for 200ml, which is a large tub.
The packaging is a simple lilac blue screw top tub, which is an easy way of getting at the cream when you are using it. The label on the lid has a background of blueberries, which is standard for the Body Butter packaging, but I think this is one of the nicer designs. The cream itself smells lovely, it is similar to their passion fruit offering so if you like that one you will also like this. It isn't overly strong so is more subtle than some of the others that The Body Shop sell. If you haven't smelt anything blueberry before it is similar to blackberry.
Some of the Body Butters can be a bit too thick and heavy for some people but this one is not either of those things. This is only slightly thicker than a body lotion and is not greasy once it has sunk into the skin for a few minutes. This is for normal skin so would probably not be suitable for anyone that suffers with dry skin.I find this one a great option when I don't want to wear any body products that will fight with a delicate perfume, as the scent doesn't really last on my skin so the perfume is all that is obvious.
This leaves my skin feeling well moisturised and soft without needing to use too much of the product itself. I find the results last all day.I have a small patch of eczema on my arm and never find that any of The Body Shops products cause it to flair up, if anything I find it is better behaved using their Body Butters than with any other companies products for some reason.
Unfortunately they don't offer any other products in this range, I don't mind that as I don't tend to use full ranges anyway. If you wanted products to work together then just use this in conjunction with the passion fruit range. At this price it really is a bargain. The fact that it is only a limited edition product means that it wont be around for long but may well come back over the years, so if you get to like it make sure you stock up.
I do recommend this Blueberry Body Butter but don't think its fruity sweetness will be to everyone's taste.
The Body Shop is involved with many charities and foundations, information on these can be found through links on their website. None of their products are tested on animals. They also run their own version of fair trade, which they call community trade, they pay fair prices to farmers of the ingredients they buy. Details of their community trade programme can also be found on their website. The website is very user friendly and means not only can you buy online (good P&P charges and fast delivery) but you can also find out more about their products and find out where your local store is situated.
