"Fruity Good-ness for your Skin!"

The Body Shop body butters have been around for years now and are very popular so I thought I would give them a try - lucky for me when I visited my local Body Shop, they were on offer at £5 a tub. After standing there for more than what would be considered a normal amount of time and smelling every one atleast 4 times - I decided to go with the blueberry one.

The Product:
The body butter comes in a 200ml blue screw top tub (plenty of it!). The moisturiser smells lovely and fruity - like blueberry yoghurt - perfect for the summer and has a soft buttery texture to it (probably why they call it body butter!).
It is very rich, thick and creamy and you can definitely feel the hydrating effect it has on your skin. Being a fan of Lush and all their natural ingredients, the ingredients list on this scares me a little. But as a tried and tested product that has been around for years and is still popular - I dont think it is anything to worry about.

The Ingredients:
Aqua (Solvent/Diluent), Octyl Palmitate (Emollient), Cyclomethicone (Emollient), Butyrospermum parkii (Emollient), Glycerin (Humectant), Glyceryl Stearate (Emulsifier), Sesamum indicum (Emollient), PEG-100 Stearate (Surfactant), Cetearyl Alcohol (Emulsifier), Lanolin (Emollient), Phenoxyethanol (Preservative), Theobroma cacao (Emollient), Ceteareth-20 (Emulsifier), Hydrogenated Castor Oil (Emollient), Vaccinium corymbosum (Skin Conditioning Agent), Methylparaben (Preservative), Propylparaben (Preservative), Xanthan Gum (Viscosity Modifier), Parfum (Fragrance), Tocopherol (Antioxidant), Limonene (Fragrance Ingredient), Benzyl Alcohol (Preservative), Disodium EDTA (Chelating Agent), Hexyl Cinnamal (Fragrance Ingredient), Linalool (Fragrance Ingredient), Sodium Hydroxide (pH Adjuster), Citral (Fragrance Ingredient), Eugenol (Fragrance Ingredient).

The Cost and where to get it from;
This body butter usually retails for around £12, but my advice is to wait until there is an offer on so you can get it for a fiver like me! As it is Body Shops own produt, it is exclusive to that shop, you can purchase it from their store or their website at

How to use:
It is pretty much the standard procedure for moisturisers. You only need a small amount as it is very rich and quite thick, you can definitely feel it on your skin once you have applied it - you need to give it time to properly soak in. Because of this I would recommend using it before bed, then it has all night to absorb into your skin - leaving it lovely and soft for the morning! Because it smells so nice strong aswell my bed quilts usually end up smelling like it too, which is nice. Because of its richness and its strong smell I always get complimented by people saying 'you smell nice - what perfume is that?' so it leaves your sking with a lovely long lasting fruity fragrance.

So to summarise - I would definitely recommend this moisturiser! It smells lovely, has a richness and thickness to it that you can really feel on your skin. It makes your skin noticably softer after just once application and leaves you smelling lovely for the rest of the day. My only criticism is that it can be a bit pricey at full price - so wait until it is on offer before you buy!
