I like to use a perfume/body spray fragrance daily but don't want to use my most expensive designer perfumes just to wear to work and to collect my son from school etc, so I was looking for a cheap but pleasant scent to wear during the day that would keep me smelling gorgeous without costing me a small fortune.
I recently purchased a Body Shop Moonflower Bath Bomb and loved the fragrance so I decided that I would see if they did a body spray or perfume in the same fragrance. At the time of my visit a couple of weeks ago The Body Shop were in the process of repackaging the Moonflower products and although they do normally sell both an Eau de Toilette and a Body Spray in the Moonflower fragrance unfortunately they did not have any in stock.
Determined not to give up in my quest to find a cheap fragrance I perused the shelves in The Body Shop and decided that I would look for an alternative. Much to my husbands annoyance, (he hates shopping), I slowly ploughed my way through the various bottles of scented sprays before I finally came across the White Musk fragrance - one spray of this and I knew I'd found what I was looking for - a pleasant but subtle fragrance suitable for day to day use without a designer price tag, the fact that the packaging for the White Musk range is a pale lilac colour had nothing to do with my choice, lol.
The White Musk collection is quite extensive and there are lots of products available to choose from including the following Bath and Shower Gel, Dusting Powder, Body Lotion, Soap, Home Fragrance Oil, Eau de Toilette, Eau De Parfum and Body Spray. All these products can be used on their own for a subtle fragrance and some of them can be used together to compliment each other and intensify the overall fragrance.
The Body Shop describe the White Musk range as being "the first fragrance anywhere to avoid the traditional cruel methods of gathering real musk from deer and civets. The range is designed for self-indulgent pampering, even when you're rushing against the clock. It leaves the skin feeling as soft as velvet with a sensual, subtle aroma."
Initially I had been looking for a perfume but having sniffed and squirted both the Eau De Toilette and the Body Spray I decided that the Body Spray was more than adequate for my requirements, it was also cheaper and contained 100 ml as opposed to the smallest Eau De Toilette which contains only 30 ml.
The White Musk Body Spray is packaged in a 100 ml plastic transparent bottle which has a slight lilac tinge to it, (anything coloured lilac is normally a winner with me). The top of the bottle has a typical push down type spray button and this is protected and encased in a clear lid.
The front of the bottle has the product name and fragrance subtly emblazoned across it in a grape coloured fancy text along with details of the product size and The Body Shop logo and name which are also written in the grape coloured lettering.
The reverse of the bottle contains details about the fragrance, a list of ingredients and details of the manufacturers contact details, again all these details are written in the grape coloured text.
The Body Shop are against animal testing and do not test any of their products or ingredients on animals, nor do they commission others to do so on their behalf.
**THE FRAGRANCE**
I have tried long and hard trying to find a way to accurately describe the White Musk fragrance but it is quite difficult to put into words. The fragrance is delicate, light, subtle but effective and has quite a pure, virginal but sexy, clean and crisp scent which is not sickly sweet or overpowering.
When I first walk into a room I am looking for something that emits a delicate but pleasant aroma and does not knock out or choke those around me, the White Musk Body Spray allows me to can create that effect.
Whilst the Body Spray is obviously more subtle than the Eau De Toilette or the Eau De Parfum I feel that it stills emits an adequate aroma which lasts for many hours. I applied it yesterday at 8.30am and was still able to smell it on my skin 12 hours later, the aroma was not as strong as it was when I first applied the spray but it was definitely still there and if I was to have become intimate with my husband I feel sure that he would have still been able to notice the delicate fragrance lingering on my body.
A 100 ml bottle of White Musk Body Spray costs £5.00, I have had my bottle for around 4 weeks now and despite using it most days since I still have ¾ of the bottle left. Because it is a mist spray one spritz tends to cover quite a large area so you don't need to use a massive amount to gain the desired effect. The product reference number for the White Musk Body Spray is 37270.
If you are looking for a delicate day time or night time fragrance which is sexy without choking you or others and is not overly sweet I would highly recommend that you pop into the Body Shop and take a look at the White Musk range of products. There are always tester sprays available in store so you don't need to purchase the product first to see if you like it.

...always been a fan of the Body Shop. They always create wonderful aromas whether it is creams or scents. Everything is beautifully packaged and there is the added bonus of Body Shops animal testing policy.
The White Musk selection has to be my favourite. There is a wide selection of products from body lotion to talc and of course perfume.
I bought the 'White Musk Body Spray' which comes in a clear plastic bottle with a pump spray. It looks almost ... ...would say it was worth the money as I bought mine in November and I still have over half a bottle left.
Because the scent is so heavy a few squirts is all you need. There is no need for additional perfume because of it's strong aroma.
When fresh, White Musk smells luxurious all though I do find that by the end of the day, when the scent has mingled with other surrounding smells, it can be a little suffocating.
Having said that it's lasting abilities ...

...if you think about it, the sense of smell is one of the first senses to come alive in a newborn baby. A newborn instantly recognises and feels comforted by the scent of its mother. I'm sure most of you can match a fragrance to a person. My sister used to be partial to Anais Anais and even though she rarely wears it now, if I catch a whiff, up pops a memory. My Mum has always been keen on Estee Lauder's Youth Dew, again if I detect this on some one, ... ...has to be one of the most highy evocative sprays around, as instantly identifiable as the likes of Poison, Obsession and Estee Lauders Beautiful. Choose it only if you have an extrovert, bubbily personality. This spray is certainly not for the shrinking violet.
It has a distinctly floral fragrance with a touch of ylang ylang, jasmine and lily - a hint of the oriental. Musk fragrances in the past have received a bad name due to the cruel methods ...

I rarely go in the Body Shop, it's one of those shops that I tend to forget about when I'm out shopping for toiletries, but when I do go in I always come out with a bottle of White Musk body spray. I first tried this as a teenager my friends all loved the vanila range but I thought it was too sickly and preferred the White Musk, it's still the same now as it was back then it's just gone up in price a little, but what doesn't?
THE BOTTLE....The body ... ...it looks very simple with the Body Shop logo in small letters. It has a pump action spray nozzle that when pressed sprays a fine mist of the scent, this I find works well.
THE SCENT.....The Body Shop advertise this as being sensual and romantic, I would agree. It is hard to describe what it actually smells like, it is subtle and delicate yet lingers on your skin for hours. It has a pure clean smell that isn't overpowering or sickly, so is ideal ...

I have tried many different fragrances but I always go back to The BodyShop's WhiteMusk. I love the BodySpray and use it every day.
WhiteMusk is a delicate, sensual fragrance and the musk is very subtle and feminine, not at all like any of the men's musk aftershave or deodorants. I do not like fragrances that are strong and overpowering.
As well as the BodySpray I also use WhiteMusk talc and whilst I was in the Bodyshop buying more I noticed a WhiteMusk product that I hadn't seen before. It was a WhiteMusk bath bomb and it cost £2.00 so I had to give it a try.
The bath bomb is about the size of a tennis ball and looked a bit like a pumice stone, a sort of mauve grey. It did not smell very strongly of WhiteMusk. I ran the water into the bath and dropped it in, it fizzed up immediately and I could smell the delicious ...

and silky. When rubbing it into to your body it leaves a light fragrance of Soft WhiteMusk on your body.
The fourth is a 125ml transparent bottle with a screw lid of body lotion. This is divine. It has all the usual markings of the BodyShop that every product carries. The lotion is white and smell of WhiteMusk. It is the same thickness as hand cream and you just rub it softly into your skin. As you rub it into your skin, it leaves it smooth and smelling lovely but I must admit it does leave it a bit sticky. Again you can smell the Musk.
The fifth one is the king of all perfumes at BodyShop and is the WhiteMuskBodySpray. This is 100ml of BodySpray and it is in a transparent bottle with a transparent lid and pump action spray. You pull of this lid and spray gently all over your body or if you use this as a scent just spray in one ...

For my birthday, I received from my aunt a mysterious package. Inside that package was a little bottle of BodyShopWhiteMusk Eau De Toilette. Overjoyed, I rushed to try it out!
Here are my findings:
~*~Packaging~*~
A dinky little 30ml white frosted bottle, with a tall silver lid. 'WhiteMusk' written clearly in navy blue writing.
A silver spray top dispenses the scent, hidden under the lid.
All BodyShop products are keen to boast that they are 'Against Animal Testing', and this is displayed in navy writing on the back of the bottle.
This was quite a while ago, so the packaging may well have changed since then.
~*~Price~*~
As this was a gift, I am not sure exactly how much these sell for.
There are many other items in the 'WhiteMusk' range which I have yet to try, these include things like soaps, bodysprays, body ...
