Being annoyingly unpredictable, my skin tends to have a tantrum once in a while and suddenly become very sensitive to cold weather... obviously this problem is more prevalent in the winter (although living in Wales it is perfectly possible in the summer too) particularly with central heating blasting out...

Which brings me handily to the subject of this particular op... Body Shop Cocoa Butter. This is one of the few body moisturisers I have found that is rich enough to actually do the job of sorting my poor skin out.
**THE PACKAGING** I usually buy mine in the 250ml size bottle but there are various sizes available including a handy travel size. The bottles themselves are simple in design, short fat plastic cynlindars with a black screw top, nothing fancy there... they are see through so you can see how much there is left and they have the traditional Body Shop logo and the name of the product clearly visible. The only minor problem with this design is that it can be a bit tricky to extract the last of the lotion from the bottom of the bottle resulting in much shaking and phwapping of bottles so none is missed.
**THE PRICE** For the 250ml bottle you would pay around £4 although there are often bargains to be had and I usually get mine from a Body Shop outlet and pay about £2.50. As these things go I dont think this is particularly expensive, especially for the Body Shop brand and the not tested on animals guarantee that goes with this.
**THE PRODUCT** Right, down to the important part.. the stuff itself. The lotion is creamy in colour and is quite thick in consistancy so a little goes a long way... none of this runny stuff for my little leggies!
It smells fantastic... typical of Cocoa Butter products it is a fairly sweet smell, fresh and clean.. no, it doesnt smell of chocolate! It isnt overpowering and only lingers for a short while so wont clash with perfume etc if you are off out.
As mentioned, it is pretty gooey so allow some time for it to soak in thoroughly, I usually go for about 10 mins to be sure. I know some people arent too keen on the soaking in time but I think this is what gives this lotion the edge over others, it actually nourishes and moisturises deep down so you have to give it time to get there! It is refreshing and leaves the skin feeling really soft... I also use this after shaving to avoid sore patches.
**THE VERDICT** This is by far the best of its kind.. pretty cheap and very effective with the Body Shop peace of mind aswell! There are other products in the same range, I also own the Cocoa Butter body wash which is just as yummy! Good for those of us with sensitive skin, I wouldn't be without it now! Highly recommended.
...using it ever since, buying the larger 250ml bottles that cost about four pounds (cheaper if you pick them up in the sales Body shop have now and then, my last big bottle cost only £2.50)
Cocoa is often used in skin products - for its smell and skin friendly qualities. However, this is a product grown in poor parts of the world, and most commercial users exploit their workers. It does say clearly on the front that this is a product for dry skin, so if you are a greasy type and find it doesn't work for you, don't say you weren't warned!.
Open the lid. Smells - slightly sharp, slightly creamy, quite distinctive. Squeeze out a dab - you don't need much, it is rich stuff. Work into hands, face, or wherever you feel you need it. Yo have to masage it in, (or get your ...

Advantages: A lovely lotion with such great effects on the skin Disadvantages: None I can think of really!
Cocoa Butter Hand Lotion from The Body Shop (for Dry Skin). I have been using a sample bottle of this product, in fact it's the Hand & Body Butter in a 60ml bottle. This was a gift with lots of other small bottles, which I think is a great gift as you can get to try out and see which ones you would like to buy in bigger bottles.

The money made by the co-operative enables the development of community projects such as schools and village wells in addition to providing the farmers with income to support their families.

Advantages: soft skin Disadvantages: the smell can be not to everyones liking
...being hard and chaffing in the winter. Having been given a free bottle of the Body Shop's cocoa hand and body lotion I was keen to try it. I love it. This product is so good that I think it should be available on the NHS. My hands are now constantly soft (people even ask me how I got such soft hands!). The product also has the benefit of sinking into the skin easily and not leaving a greasy, sticky layer on the skin. It can also be used on the rest ... ...elbows, knees and feet. The only problem that some people find with it is that it does have a smell of cocoa butter, if you are not keen on this smell then it may not be the best thing for you to use, however the smell does not linger and if you can cope with it then it is worth it, personally I quite like the smell. It costs approximately £4.50 per 250ml bottle, this is not particularly expensive and it has the benefit of lasting for ages. ...

...size of this hand lotion. The lotion itself is a pretty thick lotion that takes ages to rub into your hands and even then its not really been absorbed that well. It left my hands sticky and feeling really greasy - I had to wash them several times till i got rid of the greasy feeling which rather defies the point of using it in the first place! Also it does not smell all that good either and usually you can say thats the one good thing about buying ...
