**THE BODY SHOP**
If you have read any of my ops before you will know why I am a fan of the Body Shop, well lets start with the fact they don't test any of their products on animals, they were in fact the first company to be approved by the Animal Rights groups worldwide and back in 1996 they presented the EU with a petition signed by over 4 million people to support their against animal testing cause, then there's all the charities they support worldwide including the fantastic Community Trade programme, they believe in Activating our Self Esteem claiming that each of us are unique and they say they will always treat each of us as individuals, another cause they are passionate about is Defending Human Rights, they quite rightly so believe that it is the responsibility of each one of us to actively support those whose are unfortunate enough to have their human rights denied to them, apparently they founded The Big Issue which I was not aware of (shocking). They also believe that is all out duties to protect our planet both locally and globally, I take it they don't mean go and join Swampy in the demonstrations but to always be careful about what damage each and every one of us can cause. . It's easy to see why they are so successful in business and why they gained the honour of being the Consumer Association's 2nd most trusted brand in the whole of the UK back in 1999 as well as being voted the 27th most respected company in the world by the Financial Times.
And to think it all started by Anita Roddick opening her first shop in Brighton back in 1976, The Body Shop’s are now situated on many high street throughout the UK and across the world, I think you will all agree this has been a huge success for her, although sadly Anita herself is not so heavily involved these days.
At this point I would also like to say that every time I have been in any Body Shops I have always found the assistants to be very helpful indeed, always finding time to offer advice on certain products, you will also find that they have a personal knowledge of most of the products which in my opinion is always a good sign.
I have never felt under any pressure to purchase anything, they always seem happy when you say you will think about it and maybe come back later on (a rare occasion for me I have to say).
**THE PACKAGING**
Eyeshadows can be bought singularly coming in little round black pots of 1.8g with clear flip tops lids embossed with the Body Shop logo, the colour is available to see through each lid and in store you will usually find little tester to enable you to try before you buy.
**THE RANGE**
Eyeshadows are just a small part of their make up range including lipstick (wand and traditional), lip gloss, lip shimmer, lip liner, eye liner (liquid and traditional), eye shimmer, mascara (coloured and clear), foundation, a great range of brushes to apply make up (even foundation), pre-base and of course powder, in fact just about everything except for nail varnish, they stopped producing nail varnish a few years back, apparently it was never a great seller.
**THE PRODUCT**
Available in a fantastic range of colours, I will list a few of the shades to give you a better idea: Mushroom, Burnished Brown, Calico, Sea Green, Khaki, Granite, Pistachio, Damson and Amethyst.
I purchased the shade Mushroom and as it would suggest the colour resembles that of a mushroom shade being light brown, a very earthy shade which is one I am familiar with being dark in colour, the last thing I can get away with wearing is bright blue and greens.
The creamy texture is produced from silicone treated powder to leave a finish silk gliding over your eyes, apparently it contains Community Traded Marula Oil, being rich in oleic acid which is essential in maintaining healthy looking skin, which the shop assistant kindly informed me but a word of warning here it also contains Vitamin E and Lanolin for those of you who may be allergic this product is not advisable. She also informed me that each eyeshadow contains tiny mica pearls, which help to diffuse light minimising the appearance of any fine lines, which was enough for me to hear - I was sold.
For those of you who don’t know anything about the Community Trade programme it is very similar concept to that of the Fair Traded branding, the manufacturers cut out the middleman by selling direct to us through The Body Shop. Manufactured for us by poverty stricken communities throughout the world, which in turn helps them to build a better life for their family as well as their communities
I applied this eyeshadow this morning before going to work and have to say I found it very easy to go on, I simply used my eyeshadow blender brush and rubbed it gently over the powder itself being careful not to overdo it, the last I wanted was my eyes being too dark, I tapped the end of the brush as I always do to remove any excess powder but to my surprise there was none, I then simply swept the brush over my eyelid once and checked to see if it was enough, it wasn’t for me so I swept over gently a second time to produce the colour I was looking for.
I was pleased with the end result and that was at 7.00am this morning and I still have eyeshadow colour intact at the moment and it is now 8.30pm, no creasing, definately long lasting and no irritation, in fact I hardly realised I was wearing any, a bargain at only £6.00, I have paid more for other named products and not been so happy with the end result.
I would definitely recommend you check these out at your local Body Shop, great value at only £6.00 each and at the moment they have a fantastic offer on make up, 3 products for the price of 2 – BARGAIN!

Hope you have enjoyed my rather long-winded read, I look forward to hearing any feedback from you, take care Heather:)
Advantages: Lots of colours to chose from, easily applied and blended. Disadvantages: A bit pricey and you will want lots of them!
I have three of The Body Shop's mono eye shadows. Buying a single colour can make it easier to achieve a look that suits you and your personality rather than relying on what happens to come in eye shadow sets or duos.
When you buy single shadows you have the opportunity to mix shades that you like and create a very individual look or a more muted one. Among the shades are plenty of neutrals so that you can take that route if you wish or you could ... ...pale green.
02 Golden Khaki. The name says it all.
04 Granite. Deep grey with a hint of purple.
05 Burnished Brown. A reddish mid brown.
07 Conker. Mahogany brown.
08 Golden Paprika. A deep gold, almost bronze.
09 Fawn Parfait. A lovely neutral pinky brown.
10 Taupe. Grey brown.
12 Calico. Creamy pink.
13 Vanilla Cream. Cream, simple!
15 Pebble Grey. Neutral brown grey shade.
16 Sea Green. Lovely dirty jade colour.
17 Sky Blue. I need ...

Advantages: EASY TO APPLY, RESULTS = AMAZING Disadvantages: CANT SAY ONE BAD WORD ABOUT THEIR EYESHADOW
...IS BY FAR ONE OF THE BEST!
The product I am reviewing in the Body Shop eyeshadow collection is called "The Body Shop Shimmer Eyeshadow" I was given a beautiful eyeshadow set for my birthday in March from my cousin.
In this set there was :
A gorgeous silver star light liquid eyeliner, with glitter particles to add definition to the eyes.
A wonderful pocket size mascara with a thick brush, perfect for making your eye lashes look more thicker and ... ...a bit of mascara does the trick!
And then last but not least this eye shimmer in silver.
What does the promo say about the shimmer eye shimmer? A beautiful Range of lightweight, long-lasting, crease-resistant and moisturising eye shadows that offer shimmering, iridescent colour coverage with no powdery residue. Wear alone or layer over eye colour. Available in a variety of shades. With Community Trade marula oil.
My thoughts... I've used products ...

The range of shades normally take in current favourites, they are in handy little containers, are long lasting and certainly hard wearing.A sponge applicator is not provided, however how many of us actually normally use those provided anyway. Blending is very easy and there is a good range of testers to try before you buy. The price is good and enable you to pick and choose and add to your selection at your ...

...reasonably priced and they last! The shadows themselves are very easy to apply -they dont take forever to load on to your brush just a couple of sweeps over and you have got more than enough. They also do not drag on your skin when being applied unlike some cheap eye shadows do. they have great staying power so you wont be fore ever reapplying them. They also dont go all crumbly in there contains like some eye shadows do. well worth trying ...

Advantages: They come in loads of individual colours. Disadvantages: They are a bit powdery until you get the hang of them!
The Body Shop has, since the seventies, declared their love for the planet and the feminine being. Their makeup range just supports their claims. They are hypo allergenic, dermatologically tested and tested without the use of animals. Their ranges include lip sticks, lip glosses, foundations, eye liners, blushers. Everything and more!! They may seem pricey to some but they do last and the quality is superb!
Although I had my reservations about them ... ...feature in my makeup box! The eyeshadows come in a great range of colours. A few ideas of shades are: Pistachio, Golden Khaki, Granite, Burnished brown, Calico, Sea Green , Damson, Amethyst. If you are new to makeup, the Sea Green and Calico are perfect to gradually introduce you to colour.
The eye shadows come in a little round compact. With a clip lid and flat shape, they are ideal to fling in the bottom of your handbag. The top of the compact ...

Advantages: Rich, long lasting colour, inidivudally packed Disadvantages: Can be fiddly, may be a bit pricey for some
I first purchased this set of eyeshadows when I attended a BodyShop party at a friend's house, and ever since I've been hooked! This eye-shadow quad combines rich, shimmery colours with good value for money and smart packaging.
I decided to purchase this for a number of reasons. Firstly, despite the product being more expensive than other BodyShopeyeshadows, there are obviously 4 colours available meaning more freedom to use a colour to suit your mood! I settled upon the palette with mainly brown and gold colours because there were two darker, smokier colours and also 2 shimmery, more subtle colours. Also, with 4 eyeshadows with 4g in each cube, value for money was far better. Having then tried the eye shadow on I realised straight away that it provided a rich colour that, having worn it all night, stayed on very well. This was ...
Advantages: Vibrant colours, no mess, good packaging, four colours Disadvantages: None I can think of
BodyShop Shimmer Cubes come in the form of four block eyeshadows. Each is in its own pot and then all four are in a bigger pot from which they can be removed easily. This means that if you buy other sets in the range you can mix and match. Also you can take a couple out and pop them in your handbag.
The colours are quite vibrant and blend easily. I think four colours is quite good as most eyeshadow palletes only come with three. Another good thing is that a lot of shimmery eyeshadows come in a loose form which means they can be quite messy nd you can get a lot of waste if you are not careful but you dont get that which this product. ...
