I am always inundated with Body Shop goodies at Christmas time, largely thanks to the parents of the children I work with and the Hemp Foot Protector was one of the gifts.
Now before I start, I must let you know that my hands suffer from dryness and cracked skin in the winter but for some reason my feet don't, could be largely due to the fact that they are protected from the cold by socks etc and aren't constantly plunged in water, washing paintbrushes etc..
Nevertheless I thought I would give my feet a little treat and two weeks later they are still getting the treat on alternate nights, when I remember and actually have time!
~ Price ~ As of January 2006 it's £7 per 100ml.
I know that the Body Shop sometimes have 3 for 2 offers on so it's probably worth waiting to get your bargains.
Failing that you could try the Body Shop outlet stores which have massively reduced items.
~ Packaging ~
A brown 100ml tub with silver screw top. Black and pale green stickers the sides and top.
~ Main ingredients and their uses ~
Hemp seed oil ~ contains unusually high concentration of essential fatty acids that help repair the skin's moisture barrier thus helping to restore moisture, smoothness and suppleness.
Panthenol ~ this is supposed to improve the flexibility of nails, thereby helping to reduce flaking and breakage.
Glycerin ~ an effective moisturiser which helps imprvoe softness and maximise hydration.
~ What is the cream like? ~
The cream is a very, very pale green colour.
On opening the tub, you are hit with a very strong smell. This is very tricky to describe but to my nasal passages it smells of a combination of damp woody / pepperminty smell. I'm not overly keen on the smell which does linger for some time afterwards but I like the effect the cream has on my feet so I persevere with the smell!
It's a lovely rich cream, which is easy to rub in and is absorbed on my feet very quickly and they aren't desperately dry. What is also good about the cream is that it doesn't leave a sticky residue as so many other hand and foot creams do!
For even better results and if you suffer from extremely dry, hard skin on your feet then I would advise you to invest in some little booties, apply the cream, put the booties on and allow it to work it's magic.

This foot protector is suitable for dry to extremely dry skin. As stated earlier my feet aren't too bad but wow what a difference within a fortnight, the small amount of hard skin I had around the base of my big toes has visibly reduced. I just hope I remember to keep the regime up so my feet are in perfect condition for the summer sandals.......shame about the rest of me!
It's even worth putting up with what I think to be a rather odd smell!

I have used the footcream one and it's excellent. However, I wouldn't buy it again as I'm not keen on the smell...as you know Body Shop as got loads of product with nice smells. A great review - Kupo x
