I hate to have to admit it but cheesy feet have been one of my bad points for years. It didn't seem to matter whether I used scented foot creams, wore socks with my trainers, soaked my feet twice a day or had odour eaters in my shoes, my feet have always smelt..............AWFUL! That is until recently when I discovered this marvelous little product, Body Shop Lemongrass Deodorising Foot Spray. Now after all those years of my family and friends begging me to keep my shoes on, I am sure I have the sweetest smelling feet for miles around. I have checked this out with my family, who have all agreed that my feet are now sweet and requested that I stock up with plenty of bottles of this as it actually seems to work where all else has failed.

**** PRODUCT AND PACKAGING ****

The Body Shop Lemongrass Deodorising Foot Spray is as described a foot deodorising spray which comes in a clear plastic 100ml spray bottle. On the top of the bottle is a black removable cap under which is the spray head. There is a bright green label on the front of the bottle displaying the body shop logo, two royal blue foot prints and the product name, Lemongrass Deodorising Foot Spray which is in white lettering. It also reads All Skin Types and Make cool tracks for fresh feet.

On the reverse of the bottle it reads :

Instant relief for tired feet is just a spray away. Lemongrass oil refreshes naturally and adds extra zing to fancy footwork. FOR FEET THAT ARE READY TO GO.

The directions then read :

Spray throughout the day. Use with other products in our Lemongrass range for naturally fab feet.

As always with Body Shop products us also says AGAINST ANIMAL TESTING.

The ingrediants listed are :

Alcohol Denat, Aqua, Propylene Glycol, Panthenol,Cymbopogon schoenanthus, Parfum, Tacopheral, Denatonium Benzoate, CI 19140.

Through the clear plastic bottle you can see a light lemon coloured watery looking liquid, the same consistency as a perfume.

**** TRIED AND TESTED ****

Upon removing the protective cap/lid and sniffing the spray head you can immediately smell the lemon scent. I was actually surprised to find the smell isn't too artificial and does resemble the smell of a freshly cut lemon.

Holding the bottle about 8 inches away from my feet I sprayed both the soles and tops of each foot. Two sprays on the soles, two on the tops. A good spray was produced and just enough of the product was released to cover a decent area. The immediate sensation I experienced was cold and slightly tingly as the spray mist came into contact with the skin. As it was an extremely hot day this felt instantly refreshing and soothing on my hot, tired feet. The cold sensation lasted for aboutt 15 minutes and then reduced to the feet feeling very cool. Even almost an hour after spraying my feet still felt cool. Although you are spraying a liquid on to the foot it doesn't feel wet at all as it is released almost as a spray mist and dries on the skin literally within a few seconds. I did not experience any irritation or stinging and the product didn't feel at all sticky.

Even though the cool, refreshing feeling you get after spraying is wonderfully soothing, the best thing about this product to me is the scent. All of the foot deodorising and cooling products I have tried over the years have been peppermint scented and this makes a really refreshing change. Once it makes contact with the skin the fabulous lemongrass scent can be smelt and it is such a natural, refreshing, uplifting, summery kind of smell. Although it advises you to spray throughout the day as needed, the scent does last for some time, around 2 - 3 hours, even on my usually incredibly smelly feet! With that in mind I'd say even the smelliest feet should only need to be sprayed 3 times a day for it to work well as a foot deodoriser.

In the current weather conditions though, I have to confess I have sprayed my feet some 6 to 7 times a day as my poor feet have been very hot and tired and that lovely cold, tingling feeling you get on spraying is heavenly. As it comes in a 100ml size bottle that is only around 13cm long, it fits into my handbag nicely and I have been carrying it around with me so that I can spray my feet just to cool them down in this heat.

The Body Shop also recommend that you use the spray in conjunction with other products in their Lemongrass foot range which include a Foot Soak, Foot Polish & Deodorising Foot Powder Lotion. I shall of course now be investing in the entire range just to be very, very sure that my foot odour does not return.

**** WHERE TO BUY ****

Obviously you can buy this spray at any Body Shop store/branch but you can also buy it direct through the Body Shop at home. To locate your nearest consultant visit www.the-body-shop.com or call 08459 05 06 07. As always with the Body Shop you can buy with a clear conscience knowing that the company :

ARE AGAINST ANIMAL TESTING

SUPPORT COMMUNITY TRADE & USE MANY COMMUNITY TRADED NATURAL INGREDIANTS

BELIEVE IN PROTECTING THE PLANET

AND BELIEVE IN DEFENDING HUMAN RIGHTS.

Lemongrass deodorising Foot Spray costs #3.50 for a 100ml spray bottle.

**** VALUE FOR MONEY ****

Bearing in mind it has taken me years to find a product that is actually effective at deodorising my feet, to me this is great value for money at #3.50. Whether you are going to use it as a deodoriser, refresher or cooling agent in this glorious hot weather, I'd say it does represent good value for money. It deodorises, cools & refreshes the feet in a couple of sprays and the effects last for a good length of time. At the request of my family it is certainly now going to be an essential, as opposed to a luxury item in my bathroom cabinet!

When you are next in a Body Shop store ask if they have a tester (as they quite often do) and try it out. Even if you're not tempted to buy it, you'll walk around with lovely sweet smelling, cool, refreshed feet for a few hours which in the current Heatwave is surely worth popping into the Body Shop for.

Thanks for reading,

Marie.
