Advantages gorgeous scent

Disadvantages may not be sufficient for very dry skin; high price

Being a great Body Shop fan, I am slowly working my way through their range of fantastic body butters. I love trying new products, so depending on the current offers, I buy different scents of cosmetics. This is how Mango Body Butter ended up on my bathroom shelf.

It comes in a bright, yellow-orange round plastic container typical for all the Body Shop body butters. The container is practical and fairly robust, what I like about it is that I can clearly see (once I undo the lid) how much of the product is left and ensure that I use all of it. The body butter itself also has a yellow-orange colour, slightly paler than that of the container. On the lid, we can learn the basics about the cosmetic (which are written in both English and French) whereas at the bottom we can read a bit more and check the ingredients.

The body butter has a great, sweet (but not sickening) mango scent. It is very intense and tempting (I need to stop myself from thinking about eating it!) and lasts for a good several hours, making both my skin and bathroom smell heavenly. Even though I am almost finished with the first pot, I haven't got sick of the scent which is definitely a good sign.

I am guessing everyone knows how to use it a body butter, but in case you don't, the producer advises to massage it gently into the skin and allow to sink in before dressing. It is fairly rich so it takes a couple of minutes for the skin to absorb it - it's probably not the best idea to use it in the morning if in a rush.

This body butter is intended for very dry skin. It contains mango seed oil, Community Fair Trade cocoa butter and sweet almost oil. According to the producer, it 'leaves skin soft and smooth'. It is also meant to hydrate. Whilst I agree with these statements - my skin indeed felt really soft and smooth - I don't feel that it would be sufficient for very dry skin. My skin is normal with tendency to dry in certain places and the butter worked well (my skin was well hydrated) however I am under the impression that it would not be enough for very dry skin.

I have really enjoyed using this body butter; I think it is a good product (even though it may not be enough for very dry skin) and its scent is gorgeous. Similarly to other Body Shop products, its standard price is a little bit too high (to say at the very least) - it costs £12.50 for a 200ml pot however it's definitely worth buying it when it's on offer or sale.

Thank you for reading my review.
