To follow on from my review of Peppermint Cooling Pumice Foot Scrub, I thought it would be a good idea to let you know the perfect treatment to finish your pampering.
You will no doubt be aware of my love for The Body Shop products by now, one of the reasons for this would have to be the fact that it does not test any of it’s products of animals along with the fact that most of their products do seem of a very good quality, Gawd now I sound like an advert lol.
This wonderful stuff comes packaged in a 250ml clear (although you can see the candy pink lotion) plastic squeezable bottle with a black flip top lid, a turquoise blue info label incorporating the Body Shop logo and an image of a set of feet with the words Peppermint Cooling Foot Lotion printed in bold white text and toward the back of the bottle you find further information, ingredients etc.
To use:
Make sure feet are clean and dry, turn the bottle upside down and flip open the lid and squeeze a small amount into palm of your hand and gently massage into feet not forgetting your ankles, although it’s not necessary you will get better results using the Peppermint Cooling Pumice Scrub beforehand.
The lotion feels very cooling, it’s very runny so watch for the little blobs falling on the floor, maybe it would be a good idea to put a towel down first, the texture is very smooth and milky almost and absorbs very easily leaving no greasy residue, although I wouldn’t advise doing anything for a few minutes afterwards to give it a good chance to soak in.
I find rubbing this into to my feet makes me feel very relaxed, but for maximum pampering, I would recommend that you find someone to rub this into your feet for you, it’s just wonderful!
The smell is absolutely deelish although very strong, very mint imperials, please don’t try to taste, although you may feel tempted, it’s really not advisable as it contains peppermint and almond oils along with cocoa butter, together the scent is fantastic but it may taste very nasty!
I do use this mostly every day following showering or bathing, it does make your feet feel very fresh and clean, that, along with the oils (peppermint and almond) used, do help keep my footsies smelling nice and that is a bit of a task I can tell you, I wear pop socks (sexy I know) or tights to my office daily so the nylon tends not to bring out the best scent of my feet!
Cocoa Butter (made using cocoa beans from a Community Trade Programme in Ghana) is also used in making this wonderful lotion to help soften and yes it does make the skin on my feet feel softer and I don’t really get much bother with hard skin when I use this regularly.
I am not saying you will be quite ready for the New York Marathon (although it was invented for marathon runners in order to refresh their hot, tired feet, according to the Body Shop website), but you will definitely feel the benefit, but to gain maximum benefit as with anything, it’s best used as part of a regular routine.
It’s also suitable for all skin types.
If you decide to try it out for yourself trust me you will notice a difference immediately - fresh and revitalised footsies which do seem to remain for some time afterwards, and as I have mentioned before continued use does have huge benefits, unfortunately the next day the whiff is back again, but that could be the nylon in the tights, he he!
Would I use again??
I wouldn’t be without it now, I have used many foot products over the years and have never found anything to match the end result I find I get with using this and it’s great value at only £5.50 for a bottle. I do use regularly and 1 bottle usually lasts me around 6-8 weeks, definitely a worthwhile purchase and a necessity for everyone’s toiletries collection, male and female.
Craig has also used this in the past, well I should actually be honest here and say I have used this product on Craig and he loves it too, but then it could be the fact that I give him a foot massage that does it there!

THE BODY SHOP PEPPERMINT COOLING FOOT LOTION
All year round I have my feet showing for some reason. In the summer I like to wear sandals all the time, and this time of year I like to wear strappy little shoes to go out in. There has to be nothing worse than having dry cracked feet that look nasty and horrible.
I think I have a thing about going out without making a mega effort to look my best. For my feet, I have a foot spa, loads of nail polish ... ...A BIT ABOUT THE BODY SHOP
In my local shopping centre is a body shop. Even though they tend to be a bit expensive, when I get paid I usually go and spend a bit in there. I like the fact that the body shop make quality products that you know won’t have been tested on animals and usually make lovely smelling products, apart from a few that smell gross! The body shop have branches all over the UK, so you shouldn’t have much trouble finding one unless ...

...years now. I really like the product. When I used to work long shifts as a waitress my feet used to get really sore and quite hard and dry on the bottom, so when I finished my shift in the evenings I used to apply this before I went to bed and sleep with a pair of socks on and the effect of the peppermint cooling your feet down, and the fact that it moisturised the feet was just bliss!
If you have hard, dry skin on your feet I would really recommend ... ...sheets.
You can buy the lotion exclusively at The Body Shop and the cost of it is £8. The Body Shop also has a website now where you can purchase products so if there is not a Body Shop near you, you can simply order online!

...few weeks away. Soon the air will be filled with those traditional Christmas sounds - sleigh bells ringing, carol singers singing, families arguing...
Pretty much every Christmas I get given a bottle of Body Shop Peppermint Foot Lotion (is someone trying to tell me something?). To borrow sparkydog's description, the lotion comes in a typical Body Shop urine-collection type bottle. As far as I know there are 3 different size bottles - a titchy 100ml ... ...it cost around £4. The bottle has a little nozzle so that you can squeeze out the amount of lotion you want.
According to The Body Shop website, peppermint foot lotion was invented for marathon runners in order to refresh their hot, tired feet. I have to admit that I don't use the foot lotion after marathons - in fact the last time I can remember running at all was in 1991. My feet tend to get hot and tired after walking around in town for an hour, ...

...along with other products in the range such as the foot scrub and cooling spray. This lotion is used by people running the London Marathon every year.
The bottle is clear plastic with a flip top lid. The lotion needs to be squeezed out and this can be quite hard so give the bottle a few gentle shakes but be careful that too much doesn't come out. The label is blue and has The Body Shop logo on it with a footprint and "Peppermint Cooling Foot Lotion." ... ...rather eye catching. The cream itself is a pretty baby pink colour and this works well against the blue of the label. Obviously it smells minty lol but it is a lovely natural mint smell. It is not too strong or synthetic.

The BodyShop Lemongrass Deodorising Foot Powder Lotion
My mum's friend works at the BodyShop and is always getting reducing stuff from there for us. 10 months ago, her mum gave me this. Up until then, I'd been using the PeppermintFootLotion from the BodyShop. I thought I'd give it a whirl and try this instead. I find it very important to use hand and footlotions as I work as waitress in a restaurant. I'm either washing lots of pan and pots or I'm clearing tables and serving food to the customers.
As this is a BodyShop product, you can only buy it at the BodyShop. It costs about £6 for a bottle of 250ml, which I don't think is really expensive as it lasts for ages.
You can also buy this in spray form and only there's the peppermint one that I mentioned early. That you can also buy in spray form.
Lemongrass ...

This must be the greenest cosmetics company and it certainly tries to help the third world.
There's usually a sale on at the BodyShop, probably because they are always changing their range. I was introduced to their products via Christmas presents, peppermintfootlotion and coconut lip balm. Unfortunately the coconut lip balm, which I liked, has now been replaced by something more exotic and expensive while the strange pink peppermintfootlotion which I never used, is still available.
I bought some terrific stuff made from seaweed in a spray bottle once. They never had it again. However I think the spray bottle idea is the best thing about their products. You can get grapeseed oil, brazil nut oil and other luxury oils in spray bottles. They smell good and the the spray delivers just the right amount to the skin surface.
Even if ...
