I love the body shop and as my sister is a body shop at home consulant I am always buying products from her. That way I get what I want and she gets the commision- No losers here!
First of all I must say the Pink Grapefruit bath and shower gel pictured here is not the same as the one in the shops as that one was discontinued and another has been put in it place.
WHAT DOES IT LOOK LIKE?
The Pink Grapefruit Gel comes in a 250ml clear plastic bottle. As the bottle is clear you can see the shower gel is a rose pink colour and on the bottle is a picture of 2 halves of a grapefruit. The bodyshop symbol is in the top left hand corner and underneath are the bold words PINK GRAPEFRUIT and under that in a normal print SHOWER GEL. Below those words in a small print are the words: Mouth-watering soap-free cleansing with moisturising pink grapefruit seed oil. Then the same words are written again underneath in another language (I'm presuming French but as I don't speak another language I'm not sure).
At the side of the bottle are the words MADE WITH PASS!ON (the word passion is in bold) and underneath that in small print it says: We make our bottles with 30% recycled plastics. We are working on making it more. Until then, it means we save the equivalent of 9 million new plastic bottles every year. Thats enough to reach the international Space Station and back. Not that we've tried. Again these words are repeated in another language.
Then on the back of the bottle it says in alot of different languages that it is Pink grapefruit shower gel and if product gets in eyes, rinse with clean water.
It is possible to peel some of the backing off the bottle were it says: against animal testing support community trade organic honey from Zambia This is once again repeated in another language.
WHAT IS THE PRODUCT LIKE?
When I open the cap of the bottle a fruity smell hits my nose- it is very strong and sweet. It definatly smells like pink grapefruit.
I run a bath and squirt a small amount under the running hot tap, it immediately bubbles up and I don't put any more in. By the time the bath has run, the bathroom is full of a sweet pink grapefruit fragrance and the bath is full of bubbles that look really thick and white.
I really enjoy my bath and the smell stays in the air until I empty the bath. It doesn't get to much either which can happen with some bubble baths and the bubbles stay quite thick until I rinse them away. So overall I think that it is a really good bubble bath, despite the fact that on the bottle it says showergel.
When I phone my sister I mention that it only says showergel and not bubblebath and she says that it is meant for both but because the old pink grapefruit bath and shower gel was discontinued this one only has shower gel on to make the distinction. I don't know if this is true or if she said this to fob me off but as she is my sister I wil believe her- that and the fact that my bath was full of bubbles.
I paid £5.50 for the 250ml bottle which for bubble bath is quite pricey, however who can put a price on something that relaxes and at the same time smells great.
I have had to go on the body shop website for the ingredients as it doesn't say on the bottle what it contains. It contains the following: Aqua (Water) (Solvent/Diluent), Sodium Laureth Sulfate (Surfactant), Glycerin (Humectant), Cocamidopropyl Betaine (Surfactant), Polysorbate 20 (Emulsifier), Cocamide DEA (Surfactant), PEG-120 Methyl Glucose Dioleate (Viscosity Modifier), Phenoxyethanol (Preservative), Mel (Honey (Mel)) (Natural Additive), Sodium Benzoate (Preservative), Parfum (Fragrance), Limonene (Fragrance Ingredient), Citric Acid (pH Adjuster), Citrus paradisi (Skin Conditioning Agent), Linalool (Fragrance Ingredient), Butyl Methoxydibenzoylmethane (Avobenzone) (Sunscreen), Disodium EDTA (Chelating Agent), Hexyl Cinnamal (Fragrance Ingredient), Citral (Fragrance Ingredient), Denatonium Benzoate (Denaturant), Citronellol (Fragrance Ingredient), Geraniol (Fragrance Ingredient), Hydroxyisohexyl 3-Cyclohexene Carboxaldehyde (Fragrance Ingredient), Benzyl Alcohol (Preservative), CI 14700 (Colour), CI 17200 (Colour).
The key ingredients are:
Pink grapefruit seed oil which means it's rich in essential fatty acids that help restore skin smoothness and suppleness while rebuilding the skins barrier function.
Organic honey which means an effective moisturiser that helps condition the skin
I love the Pink grapefruit bath and shower gel- it's smells great! Price isn't too bad and you get loads of bubbles with a little bit of squirt which means the bubble bath does last quite a while.
I would recommend using it if you like relaxing, long baths.
