A mid life crisis ? - when you wake up in the mornings, take a look in the mirror and discover that you have eyes that look like arrow slits due to water retention then that is a crisis in my books.
I never had any problems with puffy eyes until I entered my fifties and then it started with a vengeance. There is nothing that you can do, you just have to wait until the slight swelling starts to disappear but if you have planned to go out early and are waiting to put your make up on it can be a hindrance.

There are not many of the Body Shop products that I would pass on, the products are natural and they are not tested on animals. The Body Shop stores are like a wonderland, as you enter the door the smell is fabulous, the shelves are a riot of colour and the packaging always looks attractive.
Sometimes the prices can seem a little inflated, I love the pots of body butter but unless they are on special offer then I leave well alone but I always manage to treat myself to some little thing.

The Elderflower eye gel was one of my experiments, a pretty little glass jar that holds just 14g of elderflower gel. The pot of eye gel is not too expensive, it comes in at just over £5.
The beauty of the gel is that one small pot will last for ages, you only need to apply a teeny amount each time.

Maybe it would be cheaper to buy half a cucumber and cut myself a few slices but I would rather have something ready to hand !
The Body Shop elderflower eye gel is clear and it is also unperfumed. Among the list of ingredients are water, witch hazel ( to refresh ), glycerine ( to moisturise ) and elderflower extract which is a mild astringent that also helps to make the skin around you eyes look livelier.

Applying the Body Shop Elderflower Extract t eye gel is not rocket science, the gel is light and all that you need to do is to dab your finger into the pot and then lightly rub it around the skin around your eyes but only do this using a very light touch or it will drag the skin which in turn can emphasise or even create wrinkles.
There is no smell but your skin will definitely feel refreshed and enlivened, the puffiness does not instantly vanish but the skin around the eye feels far more comfortable.

The Elderflower eye gel is quite a clever little product, it acts as a moisturiser, it feels really refreshing and it is not at all sticky.
After you have applied the gel then you can just carry on and put your make up on, it will sit underneath your skin foundation and carry on moisturising the skin.

When I bought my pot of elderflower eye gel from the Body Shop the assistant said to me that it was better to store the gel in the fridge, the cool gel feels super on the skin. I tend to agree with her, the cold elderflower gel is very relaxing.

Yes, I would buy a second pot !

Used teabags also help reduce swelling and ease pain and inflamation from too much sun as well . . . I hesitate before trying most 'preparations' because of my sensitivities, but this looks worth investigation . . . ♥ jes ♥
