***Vanilla Spice Shimmer Lotion.***

This is an item from the Body Shop range that is only available at Christmas. So with Christmas fast approaching I want to share with you this fantastic Vanilla Spice Shimmer Lotion. I actually received this as a present last Christmas, and I didn't start using it till a couple of months later. When I finally did, I realised what an amazing product this actually is, and whenever I have it on people always ask me "What is that AMAZING smell?".

★ Vanilla Spice Shimmer Lotion. ★

The Shimmer lotion comes in a very basic container, as do most of the Body Shop range of products. The rounded plastic bottle is see through, and looks very much like a pump soap dispenser. It has a gold pump down top with nozzle, and the lotion showing through the bottle is golden and shimmery, with tiny gold glittery specs.. It looks very indulgent, and very Christmasy indeed. It has a basic cream sticker to the front with the Vanilla Spice printed in gold lettering. It states the weight of 250 ml, and the description: 'Indulgent spicy and festive'. There is also a picture of an abstract tree, with stars alongside, also in gold. It lists the Ingredients, which can also be found on the Body Shop Website and it also displays the Body Shop Logo. ~

The pump action works smoothly and the dispensed lotion comes out in measured amounts. The lotion feels very moisturising and creamy, and as I rub it onto my hand it feels cooling to the skin. It has the most amazing shimmer to it, and catches the light as I move my hand about. The colour is slightly cream coloured with specks of gold glittering particles. I must say it seems to act like a hand cream as well, as my hands feel very moisturised and smooth now. I should imagine this would feel lovely when spread over the body as well. The lotion is actually quite thick, and I feel it to be more of a cream than a lotion, and it absorbs into the skin quite quickly. It also leaves a silky sheen on the skin that compliments the sparkle of the glitter. ~

.•*¨) ¸.•*¨) The Fragrance..•*¨) ¸.•*¨)

As soon as I pumped the lotion out I could smell the most amazing mixture of ingredients. This really has the most fantastic smell about it. I would say the first smell that I notice very strongly is Cinnamon. I absolutely love the smell of Cinnamon so that is a bonus. Then it follows through with Vanilla. The Cinnamon definitely overpowers the smell of Vanilla, but blended together with Vanilla as the undertone, this works very well. It is rich and spicy, and does smell very Christmasy indeed. You don't need much as the lotion spreads well, and the scent lingers all day. It really is very strong and long lasting, so the 250 ml for the price of £10.00 will go a long way. ~

.•*¨) ¸.•*¨) The Feel..•*¨) ¸.•*¨)

Once upon the skin the feel of the lotion is very cooling. The lotion itself is thick, with a pearly sheen to it. It absorbs very easily and quickly into the skin, leaving no stickiness, just a smooth soft feel. It feels very luxurious, and very moisturising. The Shea butter feels lovely upon the skin making it feel supple, velvet soft, and very smooth to the touch. The properties in the Shea Butter will soften and protect dry skin, so this acts as a hand cream as well, and the vitamin E will supply Free radical protection. ~

.•*¨) ¸.•*¨) The Effect..•*¨) ¸.•*¨)

The effect once upon the skin is very pretty. It also appears to be light diffusing, so this is an added bonus. Light diffusing properties are very good for counteracting lines, wrinkles, and blemishes. The lotion has a good sparkle to it, and it shimmers whenever it catches the light. It perhaps has a little too much glitter contained in it as the excess does brush off on your clothes if you rub against them, or other peoples. I don't mind this, as Christmas is Party time and the more Glitter the better. But it is a slight downside if you don't want your clothes shimmering away, as well as your skin. Therefore it is a good idea to clean your palms thoroughly after applying the lotion, as everything you touch will be shimmering too. ;0 ~

The Vanilla Spice Lotion contains Vitamin E. This is a well known anti-oxident, it helps neutralize free radicals, such as air pollution, and radiation. Free radical damage can be the cause of many modern day diseases, and vital skin cells need to be protected against free radicals by the use of antioxidents such as Vitamin E. It is very important in this day and age to incorporate Vitamin E into our skincare regime whenever possible. It is also widely accepted that creams containing Vitamin E can aid in the prevention of wrinkles and skin ageing. The Vanilla Spice lotion also contains Shea Butter, which helps keep the skin supple and very soft. The Body Shop also does a whole range of the Shea Butter products. Shea butter comes from the natural fat obtained from the karite tree grown in Central Africa. Shea butter is an emollient that is hugely therapeutic, and helps to heal aged, cracked and damaged skin. It is used in the treatment of burns, sores, and is used also as a protection from the suns UV rays. It works by stimulating the skin's renewal process, revealing a more youthful, fresh skin. ~

The Vanilla Spice Shimmer Lotion comes in a 250ml size bottle and costs £10.

You can amend this list at any time during the browsing process, and when you are satisfied with your list you can finish by paying with your Credit/Debit card. It is a fun site, and easy to navigate.~

** My Opinion.**

In Summing Up I would have to say the Vanilla Spice is a really good quality lotion. It is thick and creamy and blends into the skin well. The glittering particles are very pretty and effective, giving the skin a 'Shimmering' quality. It is a good moisturiser to the skin, and the Shea butter gives the skin a satin soft feel. The scent to it is out of this world, I absolutely adore it, but if you don't like the smell of Cinnamon this will not be for you, as the smell is very strong indeed, and lasts on the skin for ages.

The only downside I would have to say is that some of the excess glitter does rub off on whatever it comes into contact with. So bear this in mind when brushing up against someone. I like the fact it has a good range to back it up, so you can be top to toe in this wonderful fragrance. The price is what you would expect to pay for an item from the Body Shop. Their products are not cheap, but they are of a good quality, and last a good while. The Body Shop are against animal testing and they are environmentally aware. - The Body shop was founded by Anita Roddick, and the first shop opened in Brighton, Sussex in 1976. In 2006 it become part of the L'Oréal Group. It retains the unique qualities and values of it's former owner, and it is still run by the original Body Shop Management team who report directly to Loreal HQ.

The Vanilla Spice Shimmer Lotion is a truly delightful product with the most gorgeous fragrance. It is indulgent and decadent. It is also packaged beautifully, and tastefully. So why not pop into the Body Shop and test it before you buy. You won't be disappointed! ~ Vanilla Spice Shimmer Lotion makes an ideal Christmas present, as do the other items in the Vanilla Spice range. It looks great on the skin, and will certainly be an eye catcher at any party or nightclub, when you will be the Belle of the Ball shimmering away whilst smelling ultra divine too. This is a very Festive gift, only available form the Body Shop at Christmas. The fragrance of Cinnamon is very much associated with Yuletide. Like Mulled wine with cloves and Cinnamon sticks, the smell of it whilst it is simmering away on the stove is amazing, and fills the house with a true smell of Christmas. So whilst you are wearing this on your skin, you too will exude a Seasonal scent. ~ So I wish you a 'Happy 'Body Shopping' and a very Happy Christmas too. ★
