I recently went to a Body Shop party and I was after a new face wash. I use The Body Shop vitamin E cleanser and toner in the evening but I like to have a face wash for the morning, so I thought there may be a Vitamin E face wash to compliment it. Unfortunately in the catalogue there wasn't one, though looking on their website there is, but the consultant recommended the Vitamin C cleansing face polish.

She had a tester so I tried it on the back of my hand and liked it and so bought it! It arrived after a week.

*The Description*
Vitamin C is good for the skin because it helps to fight free radical damage and brightens skin, leaving it looking radiant. I believe the Vitamin C comes from the citrus oils that are in the product. Another ingredient is Glycerin which is an effective moisturizer which helps improve softness and maximize hydration.

This product comes in a 100ml bright orange tube with a flip top lid that it stands on. It has The Body Shop logo then the product name in English and French (I think). It also states it is a radiance-revealing gentle daily face exfoliator, and is for all skin types. (For information - I have normal skin, perhaps slightly oily)

On the back (in eight languages) it tells you - With gentle micro-beads to remove dull skin cells, make-up and impurities and reveal a radiant-looking complexion. Massage onto damp skin in small circular movements.

It also has the ingredients, against animal testing, last 12 months and a little recycling logo.

I was a bit unsure about using an exfoliator every day but the consultant had reassured me that it is gentle and after trying it, it is certainly a lot gentler than your usual exfoliators.

*Using it*
I couldn't wait to try this product and see if there were any results. It easily squeezes out of the tube and you only need a small amount. It is clear with tiny little orange dots in it, which I guess are the micro beads. It has a slight powdery orange smell which is Ok but smells a bit like fake oranges if you get what I mean- I do find this a little disappointing as the Body Shop stuff usually smells good enough to eat.

When you rub it into your face you can feel the little beads, like grains of fine sand, working but you can tell it is a gentler exfoliator than say the one you would use once a week. It washes off easily with warm water and then I pat my face dry.

*Does it work?*
My skin straight away felt smoother and softer from the first use. I have been using it daily now for about two weeks and can definitely see a difference. I feel my skin looks brighter and is lovely and soft. I have just put a little blob on the back of my hand to properly see what it looks like for this review and my left hand now feels much nicer than the right

*The price*
It cost me £8 for 100ml, which is normally more than I would spend on a face wash, but I felt like treating myself and I know The Body Shop products are normally very good and I am very happy I bought it. I also think it will last quite a while even though I use it daily as you only need a small amount.

It is available from The Body Shop stores, their website and if you have a Body Shop party from the catalogue.

There are other products in the range which I guess if you used all together then you would get even better results.

*Recommendation*
I would certainly recommend this product, I am positive I can see and feel a difference in my skin after only two weeks, though I saw this difference after only a few days. I'm sure my face does look more radiant than when I just used my plain face wash and exfoliated once a week.

I've not bought anything out of the body shop for years - next time i'm in glasgow city centre i'm going in my nearest one for a look. This sounds like a good product that would be worth a try. P x
