Aaah Body Shop....I remember when they used to be the only high street store to sell cruelty-free and natural products (yes I do know all about the scandals!) I also have sensitive skin and their products dont irritate it. I used to drift in there upon a Saturday and revel in the glorious smells of roses, vanilla, peach, dewberry, etc. This was in the days when they sold fragrance free products and you could add your own perfumes to them. They also sold a vast range of dewberry and vanilla products including bath bubbles, perfume, body lotions, etc and I used to go around smelling like a sweetie shop!
Then Boots brough out their own natural range which included vanilla body sprays and would do offers like 3 for the price of 2. Being cheaper than the Body Shop I started to go in there. Then for a whild Boots withdrew their vanilla range, so I trotted back off to the Body Shop. Lordy was I disappointed! It was entirely different things, gone was the vanilla and dewberry, the bottles of perfume etc, now it was all white musk and all manner of stuff with names like Anyna, the Body Shop had gone upmarket! Even the Banana Hair Putty wasnt there, invaluable for someone like me who bleached their hair a lot. But thankfully they still had the passion fruit facial cleansing gel, I love this gel, it smells gorgeous, does the job really well, is fantastic at removing make up and leaves my face really soft.
But then.....I was walking past yesterday and I saw that immortal sign £1 SALE! a real magnet for any girly! So in I trotted and it was true, they really did have loads of products for only a quid, bargain I thought, lets take a look. And, surprisingly I wasnt disappointed. They had dug out the old vanilla bath and shower gel, I love this stuff just for the smell! It also leaves my skin really soft. Although it wasnt a pound, the 250ml bottle had been reduced from £3.50 to £1.75, grabbed 2 bottles of that and kept on going. Next was the cosmetics, loads and loads of them for a quid, I picked up a silver eyeliner, admittedly you have to press a bit harder to get a really definate line, but a great silver colour. I also got some silver enhancer this adds a silver shimmer to any part of the body. Its a small tube but you dont need a lot and its nice to have a silver one instead of tacky pink or gold.
Unfortunately to get to the checkout you have to go through the kids section and thats where I got a bit silly. The first was the cola bath bubbles, a bit of a strange smell to say a quick whiff gives you the cola but the coconut smell takes over. And then I spotted it.....ice cream bath bubbles! Oh god does this smell lovely, vanilla and marshmallows with a touch of cream, I had intended getting it for my daughter but now...its mine...all mine. If I didnt really smell like a sweetie shop before, I do now! and reduced from £2.50 to a £1, Bargain!! And thats where I stopped I could have spent more and I probably will next week!
So although Body Shop have lost a lot of their good stuff, and I believe this is why less people are using them, it is worth going in at the moment to see what goodies you can pick up.
Advantages: smells g r e a t !!!! Disadvantages: shop's too small
great! This shop has the more fantastic smells coming out of it, teasing you to come in and buy all or their gorgeous products!
The Body Shop is an international company that sells a wide range of body goods such as shampoos and bubble baths. It caters for anyone from the age of about 3 monthes, to things suitable for giving your granny for her birthday. The shops are always bright, colourful and well laid out. There's differemt sections for different ... ...orange an ginger smelling, and the day after I washed my hair someone asked me what shampoo I used as it smelled really nice.
The things they sell are suitable for people of all ages. There's funky animal washing-cloths and play-dough soap for young children whereas you get things like Oil of Yslang soap for the older. It's really easy to get birthday presents as you can buy little mini sets in baskets which are really nice. You can get them in ...

Advantages: Good selection of products Disadvantages: Is only AGAINST animal testing...
Firstly, can I explain the 'Disadvantages' bit....Body Shop used to say that they never tested their products on animals, but a few years ago they had to change this claim. There are some products (not just Body Shops') that HAVE to be tested on animals. Even drugs that save human lives have to be tested somewhere, but no-one wants to risk harming humans.
Don't get me wrong, I don't condone testing on animals. I AM against animal testing. I DO NOT ... ...'Against Animal Testing'! Look on the back of all the packaging.
Anyway, having said all that, I am a great fan of Body Shop products. I have been using them for as long as I can remember. Even when I lived in Germany, on each visit back to the UK my first stop would be the Body Shop to stock up on all the products I used. I would easily spend upwards of £60 each visit!
My favourite products are......
1. Coconut Oil Hair Shine. I have been using ...

Advantages: great for discounts, youget your money back Disadvantages: none
This review is talking about the love your body card that the body shop have. This is not like a typical store card, it costs £5 and from then on, for a year whatever you buy at the body shp you will get 10% off. Even on exsisting offers such as sale items. Not only that but in the month of ur birthday u get a free birthday gift (value up to £5) so u will get ur money back on the card. Also evreytime u spend £10 or more you get your card stamped. ... ...a free gift up to the value of £5, which is the 4th stamp, and then when u have had ur card stamped 7 times you get a free gift of up to £10. But you can use these gifts as part payment towards more expensive items. Then u will get a new card to fill in if u finish the stamps before the years membership runs out.
I would reccomend this card to anyone who thinks they will want to spend £5 a year at the bodyshop, as although the price of teh card ...

Advantages: Price, packaging, smell Disadvantages: Price again - more than £10 for a body scrub is a bit too much!
...long been a customer of the Body Shop, ever since I was about 7 or 8! Although not the cheapest products in the world, the Body Shop ranges are good value for money, and cater for practically all skin and hair types.
I guess that I am a bit of an environmentalist, so the fact that the Body Shop's products are not tested on animals is a complete bonus.
Still being a teenager, unfortunately I have still got teenage type skin. Thankfully, the Cucumber ... ...the Tea Tree face mask has reduced my spots down by loads! Since having highlights done in my dull brown hair, my hair has gone quite dry, and the Banana Hair Mask for normal to dry hair has dramatically improved its shine.
Finally, I ought to say how much I love the Vitamin E Face Mist! I bought it in January last year, and it's still going strong. It is incredibly refreshing when used in the summer - I keep it in our fridge to keep it as fresh ...

Advantages: Not tested on animals Disadvantages: Not organic; hypoallergenic difficult to find;
Although none of the Body Shop products are tested on animals, and I approve of their fair trade programs, I tend to have trouble with them. For one thing, most of their products contain artificial perfume, so as soon as I walk into the store I get a headache. This is bad. Secondly, they don't show a committment to organic agricultural practice - something I feel very strongly about! In addition, a lot of their products really are simply conventional ... ...an addition, rather than forming the bulk of the formula. So, sadly to say, I am usually disappointed when I go into The Body Shop or buy anything from it. Also, even though fair trade is important, the amount of fuel used in shipping things from foreign countries is rather significant. I would be happier to see them using local ingredients, cutting out all of the perfume, and leaving out preservatives where possible. ...

Advantages: Lovely consistency and smells fabulous. Disadvantages: A tad bit pricey
After a long day running around like a total pillock what better than to soak your aching feet in a lovely bowl of hot water, drying them off and then slapping on some luscious cream to sooth and soften them. Ahhhh! Well, the cream that I would use for this purpose is BodyShop?s Africa Spa Hands & Feet Honey Butter.
The butter comes in a lovely old-fashioned airtight jar (see above pic) with a gray plastic lid that has a white swirl design. Its so nice you could use the it when you have used the cream to keep your ?nik naks? in!
It has a rich, thick, silky consistency ? like softened butter (but not greasy) and is the colour of set honey. It is made with quality ingredients (not tested on animals) - enriched with shea butter which is community traded from a women?s association in Ghana and contains honey from Zambia (see, it ...

****BodyShop Seaweed Ionic Clay Mask
****
Recently i treated myself to a couple of face masks from the bodyshop and this is one of the ones i got.
**Bodyshop**
They sell a wide range of skin care products and some cosmetics(foundation, some eye shadows ...). I would describe them as being more up market and a little bit more expensive than the average shop but worth it as the quality is great.
**Packaging**
This comes in a round tub with a screw on lid. One annoying thing is that if you are not careful and the mask dries on the side of the tub it makes it hard to open and close.
**Product**
Smell-I think that this has an ocean type smell to this and it is really nice.
Texture-As the name applys it is like clay.
Use-This is for combination and oily skin. I like how this deep cleanses skin. It can be used twice a week but i find ...
Advantages: Warms really well good for all skin types Disadvantages: Slighly expensive
hand etc before applying to the skin*** and also do a sensitivity test before using all over.
I also use this product on the tops of my arms and chest to give a deep cleanse to those areas that seem to be neglected.
The mask is available through the BodyShop and the BodyShop at Home Consultants, comes in a tube of 100ml and contains all natural ingredients. The packaging is recyclable and supports the bodyshops five core values.
Slightly expensive at £7.00 however is a fab product and works great on all skin types, lasts quite a long time because I would only suggest using it once a week and you only need to apply a small amount to the areas that your want cleanse. ...
