I was browsing the internet looking for new films to purchase, and this one caught my eye. I've never been a huge fan of Douglas, but this flick was interesting and imaginative. It was an eye opener, and although his character goes to extreme lengths, it really isn't too far from reality, and many people - in some ways - can relate to Douglas' character, known as D-Fens.
The story really begins quickly, as we are introduced to Bill Foster, otherwise known by his license plate, D-Fens. An unemployed engineer, recently divorced and prevented from seeing his daughter. Foster is stuck in traffic on a hot Los Angeles day, and has enough after his air conditioning packs in. He gets out of his car in the middle of the road, to ...
Advantages: psychological, michael douglas, social realism, dark humour Disadvantages: depressing
must first make a purchase to be granted change. Fair enough, but eighty five cents for a soda doesn't leave him enough money for the phone call; grabbing a baseball bat from behind the counter, D-FENS proceeds to bash every overpriced item in the place in a fit of rage, then agrees a price of 50 cents for the soda, pays for it, and walks off, with his anger subsided.

There are no special features on the DVD this is a film from 1993 on the verge of DVDs getting big on extras. Don't worry the DVD is good without any bumpf to pack it out.
Michael Douglas plays and average man (Bill Foster) fed up with the day to day grind and the things that are wrong in the world. The roadworks that have no reason for them being there. The Burger on the picture that looks nothing like the picture on the board. The traffic on his way to work is at a stand still so he opts to leave his car and just walk. Making his way across the city he opts to put right what is wrong ? normally by use of a physical nature. Robert Duvall is the cop who is quickly ...
