The City - James Herbert

Uuuuuuuuummmmmm, this one is different to say the least !! First of all it’s the first graphical book that James Herbert has done and I’m afraid it doesn’t really live up to his earlier work. The fact that it is in a comic book style doesn’t really invoke the same spine tingling effects as his more descriptive wording does. In fact I found it very disappointing. This though is probably because I am so used to his written word that I have in effect been “spoilt”. I would imagine if this was the first book you read of James Herbert you would more than likely enjoy it, the problem with that ... more
