What can I say!! 25 year old bloke who buys a lot of 'boys toys' and subsequently sells them on Ebay when the novelty has worn off. Normally in about 5-7 days. Not to genned up with the whole review writing malarky but having a go!

I am an avid King fan, but will be the first to admit that some of his books havent quite lived up to usually very high standard. Over the last few years, I have abstained from reading any of his work, as in and out of uni and post grad things was unable to really commit to a book like this, but have recently got back into it - and this is the best I have read for a very long time. This is typical King. I read this book in a matter of days - not because its a small book but I just couldn't put it down. I was feeling unbelievably run down all last week as I was up until gone 03:00 most mornings just reading (you know what its like - after this chapter I will definitely go to sleep - then something happens in the book and you HAVE to know what happens next.) I read quite a few of his books recently (Everythings eventual, dark tower, four past midnight, Hearts in atlantis) and this is definitely the strongest of that batch. Its an excellent book - and it has the archetypal King realism in the content which can sometimes actually horrify you. The first chapter had me reading with my hand over my head as if that would protect me from what was happening in the book - (Im still here so it obviously worked!)
I picked up this book for 6.99 from a very reputable book store - so I think its well worth the buy!!!
Downsides??
Bears an uncanny resemblance to Secret Window, Secret Garden! Thats not necessarily a bad thing, but there are definite similarities there that gets you thinking!!
A potential downside would be the making of this into a film!!! This book is too far fetched for a movie - and it wouldnt do the book justice!! Like so many other King films - only the books with at least a little toe still buried in reality do any good!!! Think Green Mile, Shawshank, Stand by Me, Misery etc... compared to Pet Semetary, IT, Night Shift, Silver Bullet (you know the one - Corey Haim as the wheelchair bound Werewolf hunter?)
To summarise, if you like King - you'll love this. If your new to King - this might be a bit much but I sincerely doubt it!! This book is the literary equivalent of a slasher movie, and those of weak disposition may need to make sure they are always sat down when reading (pretty safe bet really) as it may make you go weak at the knees and a bit faint!!
For a paltry few pound - I recommend this but I wouldn't buy it for a youngster! Enjoy the read and pass on my regards to Thaddeus!

I'm also a big Stephen King fan - haven't read this one in a while, they did make this one into a film and have just made 'Secret Window, Secret Garden' into a film too with Johnny Depp. Ellie.

I've read most of his books with the exception of the Dark Tower ones, can't get into them somehow. Pat.t
