This book is really one of the better novels out there. It sort of stinks as a whole that everybody doesn't love it.
Everybody should try and obtain this novel.
I hope everybody who buys novels, will please go out and spend their good money on this one.

toWolves of the Calla. As ever with such series, this is not the place to begin and new readers are strongly advised to start with volume one,The Gunslinger.Meanwhile the penultimate instalment in theDark Towerseptet follows three interlocked storylines. Roland and Eddie in New England, where they undergo the firestorm of the books only major action set-piece, Jake and Father Callahan hot in pursuit of Susannah in New York, and Susannah herself, together with heralter egoMia, struggling with probably the strangest pregnancy in all fiction. Her travails certainly make the New York horrors of Ira LevinsRosemarys Babyseem almost mundane. The novel is not complete in itself, but leads to a duel climax-cliffhanger leading directly into the final volume,The Dark Tower. While the journey itself is compelling and the finale riveting, it is Stephen Kings imaginative boldness which make this episode so remarkable. Stories about storytelling have become increasingly common in modern fiction, with books within books and fictional authors being central to such metafictions as Christopher PriestsThe Affirmationand Jonathan CarrollsThe Land of Laughs. King though takes the process further, writing himself into the saga, playing ingenious games with what the public knows of his life, even to his famous near fatal accident in 1999, and in a breathtaking achievement weaving the 34 year long writing of this series of books into its own fabric. The shocking sting in the final pages mean all bets are off for the epic final volume.--Gary Dalkin

Lord of the Kings? Review ofThe Dark Tower VI: Song of Susannah - Stephen Kingby

Advantages: Spaghetti Western theme, action sections work well Disadvantages: King writes himself into story. Needlessly long winded
"Song of Susannah" is the sixth novel by Stephen King in the increasingly lengthy but hugely successful Dark Tower series. It is the penultimate novel of the series and this is both its greatest strength and its weakness. This novel cannot be read without any prior knowledge of the previous five and unlike his previous efforts King makes no attempts to involve new readers in the tale. The stories main protagonist Roland of Gilead continues in his ... ...stop it being destroyed. The Dark Tower is the centre of all worlds. It is what binds them together. Represented by a single red rose it joins all worlds together by its "beams" of light. However, the Dark Tower is crumbling, the twelve original beams have failed and there is just one left. Meanwhile continuing from his previous novel "Wolves of the Calla" Susannah Dean, Eddie's wife is possessed by a demon who has impregnated her with a child. She ...

The Never Ending Story? Review ofThe Dark Tower VI: Song of Susannah - Stephen Kingby

Advantages: Keeps you wanting more, always wondering where it could possible lead next. Disadvantages: I honestly can't think of any.
Unfortunately the story is coming to a close, but this set of books is one set I will always be proud to own.
For all those people out there that think all of Kings Books will be scary, think again. Although this series is very action packed, and may be a little creepy at times, it is a fantastic book to read with out making you hide under the covers.
The Dark Tower VI: Song of Susannah by Steven King is in my opinion one of the best books in the ... ...the Calla’, with an introduction for new comers to the story and a gentle reminder for ‘constant readers’ as Steven King puts it. He has a fantastic writing sense and is very good with imagination and creativity/originality. Although the first book starts out like a western, the story has become very strange and actually leaves you thinking about what the world is really like. Like when you think about how far space goes on, the story has that sort ...

Advantages: Important read to stick with plot Disadvantages: King casting Himself
...Song of Susannah is the sixth and penultimate book in the DarkTower Series by StephenKing. This book picks up the story of Roland Deschain and his friends exactly where we left them in the previous book with the dilemma of having to find Susannah whilst still trying to save the DarkTower.
Roland's ka-tet splits into 2 for this book, Roland & Eddie are sent to Maine, America to ensure Cal Tower signs over the plot of land in New York that contains the rose that is directly linked to the DarkTower, whilst here they discover that another link to the towers safety could be a small time writer that goes by the name of StephenKing!! Jake & Father Callahan are at the same time sent to New York to search for a pregnant Susannah who is possessed by a demon...
This is probably my least favourite of all the books in the series, King is...

Advantages: Gripping plots and twists. Disadvantages: Too much emphasis on one plot.
...This is very well-written as per all of StephenKing's books. A crucial insight into the next step for Roland and his Ka-Tet, on their journey for the darktower.
Filled with twists and gripping plots it will have you yearning for more, as you urge Jake to reach the door, and to find Susannah.
It entwines through many different worlds providing details and links that seem no more then coincidence, but they turn out to be Ka.
If you have the first 5 books of the darktower series and looking to add the 6th to your collection I would throughly recommend it.
Although it may not be the best book of the series, it is well worth the read to find out what happens on the next step....
