Dinah Hunter and her brothers Lloyd and Harvey are moving house as their father has been mysteriously offered a new job working for the research Institute in another village.

Everybody seems friendly enough in the village until they are asked about 'that place' ,then they all answer in the most wooden manner that the research institute is a really good friend........

Well, that rings alarm bells with Dinah....

Noone else is convinced though.
Dinah makes friends with Simon ,a boy from the village , who confirms her fears and they do some detective work.
Di's brothers are sceptical until something happens to Lloyd and it looks as though she was right all along.

As usual the Splat members get together and discover the evil plans of guess who.................Well you never do discover the mysterious Demon Headmasters real name.

We all enjoyed the characters in these books , they are portrayed as real children , with their argumentative sides as well as their loyalties.
Ingrid is my favourite character and lovely to read .
You can do quite a lot of indignant shouting when reading Ingrid out loud.

The members of 'SPLAT' are ;
Ian , Mandy , Ingrid ,Lloyd , Harvey and Dinah.

I would recommend this book for 8 to 11 year old girls or boys.
Although this is a story which you could read on its own ,It is definitely worth reading the others in the series .

There is a television series which followed some of the books including this one.
