Review of The Firm - John Grisham by daylehall

Advantages: You actually learn while you are reading, great plot
Disadvantages: None

...books when I came across The Firm, written by John Grisham. I liked what I read on the back of the book so decided to give it a read. It was that good that less then two weeks later, I have now finished it. John Grisham John Grisham was born on the 8th February 1955 in Arkansas. He graduated from Law School in 1981 and then practised law for over a decade. He wrote his first book in 1987 called A Time to Kill and has continued to release number ...
...had me hooked after reading the first couple of chapters. It is also fairly educational, as John Grisham practised law for 10 years, so he obviously has a great amount of knowledge on how the law business works and you get a very interesting insight whilst reading this book. The story is centred around Mitch McDeere and his wife Abbey. Mitch is fresh out of law school and finished 3rd in his class at Harvard Law School. All the top law firms are ... Read review

Great
Review of The Firm - John Grisham by Lowey

Advantages: Great read
Disadvantages: Not as good film

The Firm is an excellent book about a young law student from Havard. He joins a law firm which is quite well-respected. The law firm offers him all of his dreams on a plate, for example a flash car and nice, comfortable house. However he slowly reveals deep and dark secrets about his law firm, which he should not really know. Sure enough his dream ends and begins to turn into a living nightmare. This is a real thriller and keeps you hooked right ... Read review

a firm favourite
Review of The Firm - John Grisham by hmd3

Advantages: Pacey thriller
Disadvantages: adapted into an awful film

The Firm is the book that really brought Grisham into the spotlight and it is not hard to see why. The master of the legal thriller, Grisham has such a love for his subject which supported by gripping storylines and believeable characters creates the basis for some of the best literary works around. The firm is no exception, it is beautifully written, it is at times very fast and intense yet does not seem rushed. The characters are also given time ...
...the setting. The story itself focuses on Mitch McDeere and his wife Abigail. Mitch has had to work for everything during the course of his life after coming from a poor family, while his brother Ray went to prison Mitch went to law school. Things start to get better however when Mitch passes the Bar exam with flying colours. He receives a number of amazing offers to work at some of the finest law firms, however one in particular grabs his eye. ... Read review

A Firm Thumbs up !
Review of The Firm - John Grisham by kenrick

Advantages: Great author
Disadvantages: none

This was the first John Grisham book I bought and is my favourite out of the eleven he has wrote. Based around a poor law student called Mitch McDeere who is struggling to make ends meet whilst finishing his law degree. He is given what he thinks is the chance of a lifetime at a prestigious law firm in memphis, which is actually a firm linked to the Chicago mafia. Mitch and his wife Abigail move to a new house, have a new mercedes car, a six figure ...
...the Firm is watching them! The action is none stop and a great paced thriller which is one of those unputdownable books, which you want to keep turning over the next page. The main characters blend well around McDeere especially his brother Ray and the FBI agents. I would definately recommend this book to anyone who likes a fast paced thriller with lots of twists and turns and an unexpected ending. ... Read review

They were prepared to match, and then exceed Mitch's wildest dreams: eighty thousand a year, a BMW and a low-interest mortgage. Now the house, the car and the job are his. Then the nightmares begin: the secret files, the bugs in the new bedroom, the mysterious deaths of colleagues, and the millions of dollars of mob money pouring through the office into the Cayman Islands, dollars that the FBI would do anything to trace. Now Mitch is in the place where dreams end and nightmares begin... From the PublisherGrisham's bestselling backlist reissued with fantastic new covers See all Product Description
