Firstly, this book is not suitable for young people. It contains sections of erotic nature and so parents, etc won't want their children reading them. This book is addictive. It's so good, I couldn't stop reading it. I've never been one for horror but i was recommended this book by one of my friends. I actually picked it up in a charity shop but i think the rrp is £2.50. The basic plot of the story is some fog escapes from inside the earth during an earthquake. The fog drives people to do things they wouldn't normally do such as murder. This fog slowly spreads and engulfs London. It is up to John Holman , the main character of the novel and his collegues to prevent the fog affecting any more people. It is the type of novel where you feel that you really know the characters and the novel gets your heart beating and is a true page turner. Some scenes are incredibly vivid but sometimes quite sickening. I suppose this is expected of a horror book. You feel that you're in the middle of London with thick yellow fog swirling around you, whilst crazed people close in on you... James Herbert is a truely talented author who i think is highly underrated. The fog is one of Herberts stronger works, i feel, having read other novels by him. This book is hard to describe but if you're into horror-then read this.

I like James Herbert and just finished reading 48 last week. Just as good as the Fog.

I read this ages ago, and can remember being impressed. Maybe I'll take another look. Your op was a bit sparse, but along the right lines. It might help if you look at other people's book reviews. Good luck.
Advantages: So apt for our current climate change Disadvantages: Don't read it at bedtime, the night will pass quickly, and you'll still be reading when it's time to goto work
