    The Fuller CV - fast...

Why did I choose 'The Fuller CV'?

Having had little response to a CV that had previously worked, I decided to get it reviewed 'professionally' by a collegue who is an HR Consultant. As this modified version did not seem to do the trick either I decided to get a second opinion. I opted for The Fuller CV as it was flagged by Job Site.

First things, first,

After completing a brief registration process, you have two options to obtain your CV review, either by a phone call where you will speak with one of their consultants, or you can have it emailed to you subject to an 'adminstration charge'. I chose the review by email option at a cost of £9.73.

What do I think of 'The Fuller CV'?

The Good:

I was impressed that this 'review' was delivered in an hour as they state it can take up to 'three days'.

The Not So Good:

In my opnion the review supplied was a genric or standard response - something other reviewers have noted. It said use action words, sell yourself. The usual pyschobable. The problem I have is that my C.V did this already, for example it noted I had secured a contract of x amount per year. Also my CV already used a lot of the action words the reviewer advised, so in short it suggested nothing new. Had it for example, given just one place where I could have used a different word or phrase then that would have helped as I would have something to work with. Instead I am left wondering what parts I actually need to change.

To conclude:

In all honesty it left me feeling even more demoralised as the 'criticism' of my C.V was less than constructive. At the end of the review there was an offer to have a professional C.V done for £119 plus vat. Sorry not falling for that one. Call me cynical but these 'reviews' appear to be little more than a 'hook' to get people to part with even more money.
