Let me ask you a question: When was the last time you find it difficult to buy someone a pressie for their birthday or christmas? Pretty recently right? Wouldn't you love to find a shop that is guaranteed to sell items that your loved ones would love to receive? Then look no further and read on....

The gadget shop is a store which sells a vast array of products which have a sci-fi, wierd, wacky, unusual feel to them. The store has come a long way in the past couple of years when they used to sell cheap, tacky items that would be more appriciated in a car boot sale, they now have quality, fascinating, intriuging products which appeal to all. They sell just about anything useful or useless (but great fun!). Here's just a few things that they stock:

Plasma/lightning lamps: I love these things, don't you? You know the lamps which seem to have electricity running through the surface which you just have to touch and fondle with your hand and shout to your partner "hey look, the electricity is on my hand!!!!!", hmmmm..... They also have lava lamps which look sooooo 70's and retro and brighten up any dull corner in your house.

Inflatable chairs: These are ideal for rooms in your house where you just feel the need to crash out but dont want the expense of buying a comfy chair. These babies are just a tenner and don't burst!! I havehad mine for over a year now and it still hasn't deflata.....damn it's burst!!! (just kidding!)

Lighters: For all your partners that smoke like chimneys these are ideal. the start from £9.99 and work their way up to £19.99 and have the brand name 'zippo' so you know you are getting quality.

Fart alarms: These are great fun. You place one over the toilet in your house and everythime a person wants to go to the loo it picks them up on it's motion detector and sends out a signal which says something like "fart detected, perimiter violation!", yes a load of crap really. Oh look i've just made a joke....how amusing.

Cuddly toys: you will find a good selection of cuddlys here including talking ones, moving ones, soft ones, big ones, small ones and rude ones. Yes, there is a bear that farts when you pick him up! Who was saying this place isn't tacky anymore?

Bubble lamps: They sell the ever popular bubble lamps in all sizes and shapes and even mini-aquriums with little fisheeees in it.Cool.

Have i convinced you yet? Well they also sell C.D racks, Perfume bottles, bottle openers, bathroom scales, contact lenses (the really freaky ones that change your eye colour), collectables, cushions, candle holders, candles, wine bottle holders, novelty desk items, metal detectors, big mouth billy bass (i wish they would get rid of these bloody things), toys for kids, watches and bathroom accesories and loads more........!

They are priced reasonably and you don't even mind paying that few pence more on occaisions when you see something that would look sooo cool in your living room even if it is to show off to your friends. All products are out of their packaging on the shelves so you can have a little play with them before you buy and the goods are always in stock.

Customer service is excellent and quite often the staff are just as wacky as the products! There is one area which could be improved upon - checkouts. They only have 2 usually and at busy times, especially christmas, it can get quite mad and you are waiting ages (and hey, that's quality time you could be having playing with your new toy!). They give refunds no matter what the reason as long as you have a reciept of purchase which gives you piece of mind when buying pressies for someone.

They also have an excellent website which is well worth visiting if you havent got a Gadgetshop near you. All their products can be found online and they also have free P&P no matter what size the order is!WOW. It's easy to use and to navigate around and they often have bargains on there that you will not find in the shops. The web address is www.thegadgetshop.co.uk

What else can i say about this store that i haven't said already? Nothing. If this review does not impress you about the store then you might as well steer clear of it as it only sells the types of products i have mentioned. So who's birthday is coming up next?.... Got them a pressie?..... No? then head on down to the Gadgetshop where you are guaranteed to come out with something that will please even the hardest of people to buy presents for, or check out there website. thanks for reading!

Your op gives a good idea of what this shop represents. That why I gave it a "very helpful". I just wondered, after reading your op, why you liked it so much? I mean, aren't these presents not starting to look "cliché"? Greets, Bastien

Great op, I love this shop. If I'm in London I'll pop into the one in Covent Garden just for a look round - always useful for pressies for my little sister. Claire
