I bought The Girl Who Loved Tom Gordon for 1 reason only - it's written by King.

This book is no ordinary "run of the mill" horror by Kind, this book is written much in the fashion of Richard Bachman and is just as much a "heart in your mouth adventure" as it is a classic example of Survival Horror at it's very best.

Without giving too much away this story follows a young girl (about 9 yrs old) who gets lost whilst hiking through the woods with her emotionally strained family. As she travels further & further from the rescue teams search area, death looks more and more inevitable and you really do feel for the main character through her seemingly endless struggle.

Again, this book is written very much in the style of Bachman rather than King himself as it is less action packed and more a crisp description of a young girl hanging onto life by the skin of her teeth.

A great book which I recommend any King or non-King fan out there to take a look at.
