Advantages Advantages Easy Reading Format, Amusing Celebrity Anecdotes

Disadvantages Disadvantages Dumbed Down Language, Poor English TBH

I like Chris Moyles, I really do. He amuses me first thing in the morning on the drive to the office. Amusing me first thing in the morning is no mean feat. It usually takes me at least 2 hours to even resemble something approaching human and away from hellspawn. So, my interest was piqued when he announced (Loudly and brashly for that is his way) that he was writing and had written a book. It immediately went on the Christmas list to Santa and Santa, being the obese representation of Christmas we have all come to love, did not fail to deliver. The cover simply shows Moyles making some rather ... more

Advantages Advantages Insight into the world of commercial and national radio!

Disadvantages Disadvantages Dr Fox is an idiot!

The thing about this book, I will say to anyone who has yet to read it. Do not expect any sombre confessionals, dark past, troubled upbringing or any other of those things that you normally get in these honest and frank autobiographies.(See Sharon Osbourne, Gordon Ramsey etc) This book won't do much in that way. Chris Moyles did not have a troubled upbringing and doesn't really have much in the way of a dark past or anything really to confess about. The book is basically about his rise and rise to perhaps thee most sought after national radio spot and the subsequent fame that came with it. I ... more

Advantages Advantages Funny, engrossing, fairly quick to read

Disadvantages Disadvantages If you don't like Chris Moyles you'll hate it

Chris Moyles is one of the very few people that can make me smile very first thing in the morning. As I'm on my way to work, bleary eyed and with the taste of toothpaste still strong in my mouth, his madcap humour and banter with his close-knit team always manages to raise a smile. So when I found out he'd written his autobiography I was naturally very keen to read it, and requested a copy for my birthday to avoid my mum complaining that I never want anything because I've already bought it myself. ---THE BOOK --- Settling down to read it, the first thing that struck me was how many pages were ... more

Advantages Advantages Funny, entertaining and easy to read

Disadvantages Disadvantages A very arrogant perspective from the "Saviour"

Chris Moyles, the Saviour of Radio 1, the man who never fails to add listeners to his show, whatever the station, whatever the time. Can such a larger than life DJ make the transition from entertaining over the airwaves to entertaining in writing - he certainly can, well I think so at least. I listen to the Chris Moyles show almost every morning as I drive to work, only the first hour of the show, but it never fails to make me laugh and I genuinely find the entire make up of the show brilliant. But many famous personalities have also tried pen their way to success with little luck. With nearly ... more

Advantages Advantages It tells you something about Moyles

Disadvantages Disadvantages It jumps around, badly written, not much information

I felt compelled to write a review after reading this book. I must admit that I used to listen to Chris Moyles in the morning before I had kids and gave up working, now I just sit and watch kids cartoons until it's time to get dressed (but that is a different story), and I used to really enjoy listening to him. I remember Chris talking about his book on air quite a bit, but then forgot about it until I read a review on another site, the review did say that the book wasn't really that good and to borrow it from a library rather than pay for it...what a great idea, off I go to the library and ... more
