This is the most amazing scintillating and outstanding book I have ever had the pleasure to read. I was gripped by it and it reads like fact more than fiction. Every single time I got near to the bottom of a page I would race as fast as I could just to turn over the next one to see how the story evolved. The Book is set on death row. Part of the story is the struggle for acceptance and caring for a very quiet man, with an amazing gift, who ends up on death row (through no fault of he’s own). Some of the other characters mentioned in the book include, a nutty prison guard, an evil caseworker and a little mouse called steamboat Willy. In the book there is greed, emotion, drama and hatred and you would not believe the ending, it’s a real surprise.
It is a total turn around for Stephen King and I love it. I have been reading he’s a book for a very long time but this is the only one that my 76-year-old grandmother has enjoyed reading as much as I did. The only problem I found was that when the whole family finished it, it came back a bit tatty so I have purchased another copy just for myself.
I would ask all of you who enjoy a really good read to buy it and if you can’t but it go to the library and borrow it but please o please do not be put off by the fact that it is by Stephen King.

Your passion really came across well - maybe there could be a bit more on plot and characters?? I read the book and loved it until the film came out - don't ask me why though. Cheers for the read! Stu
