Further to my reviews of the content of the Freeview box. The Hits channel hear are some facts taken from the website Wikipedia. The Hits is a TV channel owned by EMAP, showing a mix of Pop music and other genres of music. The channel's current Freeview rival is TMF_UK (also available on Freeview), a subsidiary of the MTV group of stations.
It can also be seen via many UK cable services, and through the British_ Forces_ Broadcasting Service.
THE LOGO
The channel also seems to have a new identity annually. Its original identity was very basic with the 'Big_City' logo above the words "The Hits", and this identity was used to launch the channel. After some changes the on-screen graphics were finally updated again in June 2005 to co-inside with EMAP's image of minimalist graphics on all channels. The Hits logo was shrunk and put on a tilt with the words "The Hits" put into a new font. The rest of the onscreen graphics were simplified and shrunk somewhat to enhance viewing.

Plenty to keep you busy with lots of easily accessible info on what's on with these channels. Easy to use.
THE TV PROGRAMMES
The screen is not over dominated by logo or other current information about what is going on in the screen. The music videos run continually, examples of what I have seen include the Top 50 one - hits wonders, Top 100 sexiest females singers. All digital quality videos by many popular artists, some you will recognise from BBC TOTP. The advertising between shows is fairly minimal.
MY OPINION
It's free on Freeview, which is a great incentive to watch it. Commercial advertising does not take to much time allowing plenty to watch the videos. As a home worker I find it a great way to relax during short breaks and also whilst waiting for other events to occur during the day. Unlike TMF its major competitor (according to Wikipedia) its all video music of often recognised popular hits. I like it...its free.
How helpful would this review be to a person making a buying decision? Rating guidelines
I used to prefer TMF but as they now have rubbish like Pimp My Ride and Meet The Barkers on more than the music, I have started watching this channel a lot more.
