I found this book to be completely inspirational. With so many baby books out there, telling you to do so much with your baby, this book does the opposite.
He reinforces the idea that children are not useless and neither are the parents. Letting children do their own thing and giving them tasks to do around the house helps not only you but the child. I have started to give my 7 month old the duster and he loves to play with it.
He brings humour into the book that is really needed in every day life. At one point he says, 'kids love a tiddley mom' and I had to giggle. The more relaxed the parents are the more relaxed the children will be.
So put down every baby book that you think you should read and pick up Tom Hodgkinson. It gives you confidence that you are not a bad parent. You will not want to put it down!!

Manufacturer's product description
The sort of book which any self-respecting child would wish their parents had read. Gently comedic on the surface, it is a book about serious freedom underneath. Profoundly sane, kind and endearing, it is written with a huge generosity of spirit as an act of family-liberation.
