Advantages: a new twist to the vampire stories Disadvantages: too short
‘Professor Abraham Van Helsing was the fictional creation of Bram Stoker for Dracula, his dark work of fantasy. Or was he?’
This is an unusual idea for a book it is written a journal edited and with critical commentary by Professor Allen Conrad Kupfer. The story goes that he has recently found the journal in his grandfathers’ attic. His grandfather, Daniel, met Van Helsing at one of his lectures on vampires, he was interested so found out more and ... ...Dracula is mentioned but the whole story is not included. They try to find out as much as they can about Vampires as the ‘plague’ is becoming a problem in London.
The journal is mailed to Daniel who reads it and adds comments on the entries from his point of view and things Van Helsing has missed out. Allen Kupfer brings the journal up to date with references to vampire films, books, internet, TV ect
One my favoute bits is a reference to vampires ...

Manufacturer's product description
Professor Abraham Van Helsing was the fictional creation of Bram Stoker for his dark work of fantasy Dracula...or was he? Fragments of a recently discovered journal suggest otherwise. For the first time, in his own words, the legendary vampire hunter tells his own story. His early years and studies in blood research and mysticism lead to his quick rise in prominence in academia. His medical work and research in Rumania and the Mideast. The memoir takes a dark turn, when Van Helsing recounts the tragedy of his beloved wife's descent into madness and the death of his only child. Most importantly, Van Helsing's journal records the discovery of perhaps the greatest threat to man's dominion on earth, vampires.
